LV Trip Statistics

I just took a trip to Las Vegas January 19-23. I got two hotel rooms.
One was for my friends at Harrah's (two nights comped, $80 Saturday)
and one was at Fitzgeralds (two nights comped, two nights at $32). I
stayed at Fitzgeralds myself, not because it's nicer, but because I
like to stay downtown near where good video poker is and to keep a
short distance between my friends and I, because I've found trying to
coordinate a group that large is like trying to herd cats. I also
like to play table games with lower limits in case I want $100 to last
a longer time and actually get 3:2 for my blackjacks. I flew from San
Diego on a DING! fare for $32 each way. All room charges and meals
were comped on this trip for me after using club points from Harrahs
and Fitzgeralds.

No royal flushes on this trip in probably about 19,000 hands. I keep
a log of any hand 4OAK or better. I got 37 4OAKs which means one
4OAK every 513 hands. I played BP and DB.

I held the following number of cards to get a 4OAK:

0 0 (No 4OAK on complete redraws)
1 1
2 20
3 13
4 3 (Dealt 4OAK)

I received the following number of 4OAK for each rank of card (notice
no tens and six quad aces !! - including three sets within an hour of
each other):

2: 2
3: 4
4: 2
5: 4
6: 2
7: 5
8: 3
9: 4
10: 0
J: 2
Q: 2
K: 1

On average, I received a 4OAK every 23 minutes within sessions (I
don't keep exact length of session information, only from first 4OAK
to last 4OAK in a session).

My 37 4OAKs totaled $5,097.50 in a variety of .25, .50, and $1 denominations.

When I found the $1 9/6 JOB and $1 BP machines at Harrah's, I decided
to use those for Diamond in a Day and actually was up about $500 when
finished with 2008 base RC. I received $103 in comps at Harrah's on
about 2200 ($22,000 coin-in) base credits overall, so that's about 4
to 5 bonus RC for each base RC for a comp value of .4 - .5%
(whoopeee!)

Largest hit in money value = $400 (Aces in $1 BP)
Largest hit in coins = 3200 on 20-coin (Aces in .05 DB)

Cool report, guy! (You're a man after my own heart with the stats

The wife's been looking at a couple of jobs in CA. Only attraction I
see is that a weekend LV trip becomes feasible (airfares have cut our
trips from Philly to about once a year ... if I'm lucky). Of course,
few seem to be envious of our "Center City" lifestyle.

Hmmm ... first reading yielded an interpretation of 513 hands played
on average every 23 minutes? Thought to myself, "Cafeful on the
caffeine, guy!" (Now realize time before first and after last quads
were excluded

That .4-.5% comp rate sounds about par for the course on the Strip on
good vp. In fact, I seldom hear of stronger reports anywhere. (Well,
I do know a guy or two who dine and spa their way to a stronger RFB rate.)

A report by comparison. A year ago in AC the only good Harrah's vp
action was $1 9/6 Jacks (Showboat was basically a wasteland (save for
one quarter bank with a "good" game with var=90). Just in case I
decided to reactivate Harrah's play, I went for DinAD.

Played through about $23K (a little play was before the 6a day start
to ensure I snagged one of the three $1 Jacks). I fared MUCH more
poorly than you. My RC score ... 2200 base, nada bonus - .1% comp
rate (cb ran something like .15%). Both Harrah's and Showboat have
since introduced MG/MD banks w/ Jacks - likely offering improved cb/comps.
