Hello all.
This is my first posting to this group. I've been enjoying reading
the various posts for a couple years now, so I'm excited to post some
highlights from my current LV trip.
I'm from CT, so I'm normally over at Mohegan Sun, which has a few
decent video poker machines. I don't play VP exclusively, but I
figure even if I play negative video poker, I'm still losing less
than I would on slots (although I play those too lol)
Anyway, the first part of my trip was at the Bellagio. I stayed with
a friend of mine who was here on business, so I figured I could crash
with him and stay in a much nicer hotel for free than I could on my
own! The VP here is not very good, so I haven't really been playing
here very much.
A group of us were heading over to FIX for dinner, so I had some time
to kill before then. I'm walking around and I notice a bank of $1
9/6/5 DB, with a progressive at $7400. I did some quick calculations
in my head and figured that if it wasn't over 100%, it was pretty
close. I had about 20 mins to kill, so I sat down to play. Within 5
mins, I hit Jacks and Aces, and was up over 1,100. Cashed out with
that, and stuck in another $100. My friends called to say that they
were heading to the restaurant, so I figured I'd play the rest of the
100 and leave. Dealt QKA of spades. Thinking nothing of it, I held
that, and up popped the 10 J! WOOO HOOOOO!!!!! (you should have
heard me screaming!)
As you can guess, I was a little late for dinner, but I definitely
had reason to celebrate. (picture to be posted soon). I didn't even
think to ask for a check, so it was a little disconcerting to see her
come over with a wad of hundreds and start counting them out to me.
(I know now to ask for a check lol)
Continuing on, couple days later, I was staying over at Palace
station for the weekend. I love playing the full play machines they
have there (DB and DDB are my faves). Started playing $1 DDB, and
after hitting 4 Aces (no kicker), I was dealt 3 to the royal in
diamonds. Held that, and again, up popped the other 2 for another
$4,000! This was turning out to be a really great trip! I managed
to hit 4A w/kicker too! (I also managed to hit over six thousand
dollars on the slots, which is very unusual) Overall, this has been
a trip in the way plus! Essentially I won back more in this one week
then I've lost all last year at MS.
I'm on the plane as I write this. It's been a very long 7 day trip
in Vegas, but after 5 W2-G's and 2 very exciting trips to the bank to
deposit the winnings, all the missed sleep is turning out to be worth
it. (yay for all the taxes I now owe. Thankfully I can itemize and
at least write off some of the winnings with losses)
So, this trip was a lot of firsts for me. My first (and second!)
dollar royal, My first progressive royal, my first time getting 2
royals in the space of a couple of days, my first winning trip in
Vegas, my first time being called by a slot host, who comped me for
all my nights, and sent me up a gift basket too! I made it halfway
to the Chairman level in 3 days at PS, so I played a LOT, but after
hitting the royal at Bellagio, I was playing with their money, so it
was all good!
Ah well, back to the real world, with a lot less credit card debt!
