Left late in the afternoon on the 13th from Tampa
with SWA flying to Vegas via Chicago and Omaha!
At least we didn't have to change planes.
Usually we fly direct in the AM but work
interfered with that option. We rented a compact
from Dollar at $12 a day without a special
discount code. We used the Fastlane option of
picking a car from the lot, driving it to the
gate and signing the contract there - made for a
quick getaway after a long flight.
Stayed at Suncoast as we have for the past
several years despite the less than 100%
paytables for VP. My wife, Margo insists we stay
there as she is comfortable there and has a
winning record at Suncoast. During the first two
days I hit two royals for $2000 and $1000. Margo
was losing non-stop and suggested we give Ramparts
a try as we have done well there.
We arrived at Ramparts and selected .25 10/7 DB
machines next to each other (which we rarely do)
and proceeded to play. After about 10 minutes, I
was dealt AC, Kc, Qc, Tc, and 8c. With Margo
watching intently, I tossed the 8c and promptly
drew the Jc for a royal. She kidded me saying
she had wanted to play that machine and I took it!
About 5 minutes later, Margo was dealt Ac, Kc,
Qc, Tc, and 7h. She called my attention to the
hand and tossed the 7h and quickly drew a Jc for
another royal! We both strted laughing and
hugging in disbelief as within five minutes we had
scored identical royals including drawing the
same card to fill the royal! After a while we
settled down, cashed in the tickets and selected
two other machines, .25 10/7 DB next to each
other (can't break up a winning system). After
about 15 minutes Margo scored 4 A's. Less than 10
minutes later, yours truly scored 4 A's. We
played a little longer and decided not to push the
VP gods any further. We left ahead $2,150 after
about 1 1/2 hours of playing time and also took a
free sweatshirt on our way out the door.
To celebrate we had dinner at Via Vento at
Suncoast. Margo had saltimbocca and I had lamb
chops. The entrees and the salad were great but
the pasta was over cooked. For dessert, we shared
a tiramisu which was outstanding.
Margo had to go back home Sunday morning
because of work demands. I stayed and played at
the Palms, Montelago, Fiesta Henderson and GVR.
Ended up winning $250 total from these casinos.
Total win for the trip was $3,500 including $320
cashback from Suncoast. Donna Sinclair, host at
Suncoast took care of the room and all meals.
Great Trip - now if we can avoid Hurricane
Wilma, we will be back in Vegas in Dec.
