LV Plaza Update

Update on the "Plaza" in Las Vegas.

The place is still a dump, and still smells horribly.

Be careful, comps expire after your trip. I ran $250,000
through my last trip playing .25 100-play video poker. I did
not take any comps, not even a sandwich. Upon arriving this
past week, I was told I could not get a comp for the deli!
When I asked why, I was told I had no comps. I asked for a
host, he checked my records, and confirmed the play. I said
"Can you issue a comp based on my play last trip?" His reply
was (I quote exactly) "Don't tell me, show me MAN". I've had
my own business for 15 years, and couldn't imaging calling my
smallest volume client "MAN". What a lowlife establishment.

Also, cash back - you can only get $200 a day of the cashback
you earn. I had $525 in cashback coming from last trip, and
had to make THREE separate trips to redeem it. (the slot club
was closed during my play the previous trip - limited hours).

Didn't get much of a machine inventory update, as I refuse to
ever step foot in this dive.

What game was it that generates no comps for $250,000 worth of action ?
I know many places back east , have that policy for 9/6 jacks or better or higher EV !

PS - your right about the place being a dump - I consider the Plaza in a 3 way tie between
the Western, and Fitz as being the worst downtown place.

kinda makes me wonder why this guy hangs out in dives...

I was in the Gold Spike last week. Yes, it *is* a dump. But it has a
relatively hard-to-find game I like called "Let It Ride". You bet 3
coins (or multiples of 3), and you are shown the first three cards. If
you don't like them, you press "take it back" and see the fourth card.
At this point you have two coins invested. If you still don't have a
good hand, "take it back" once more, and you see the fifth card. If
it's a losing hand, you've lost one coin.

But if your hand looks promising (if you've already at least made back
the bet, or possibly have a high-value hand) then you press "Let it
ride". You see the fourth card, and still have 3 coins at risk. You
can then decide to either "take it back" and lose only 2 coins, or
"Let it Ride" for 3 times the payout.

As you might imagine, this is an extremely high-variance game. I
nearly always have some decent winnings while I'm playing; the trick
is to keep them! There is the potential for some pretty significant
payouts if you are dealt 4 of a kind, or even a full house.

I used to play Let It Ride at an online casino. Once upon a wonderful time, I got a Royal which paid (I'm sure way low) $1500. Iwas plenty happy about that!!
