Just returned from 5 nights at the LV Hilton. Data base is correct. Everything comped, including guests I took to the Buffet for lunch and Steak House for dinner. Averaged 48k per day into the machines and collected 7 W2G's for my efforts. This was a little below my normal average, but well within my C2 rating that I have had for several years. Since I was there for the NAB Convention, I did not spend as much time gambling as normal. Had fun spending several hundred comp dollars in the shops, but still have over $800 I have left in the comp account. Next trip later this year, I will have to go to the other properties to use them.
Most of the staff is taking a "wait and see" attitude toward the upcoming change in ownership, but do not seem overly worried about it, unlike the last time the casino almost sold. Some think it may a good thing. A date for the change has not been set and most employees think it will happen July 1st or later. My host said there is a big planning meeting with the new upper management planned for late June and that I should call around July 1st to see what I might be offered in my next trip and dates for the larger invitational slot tournaments. They expect no major changes for the rest of the year, but will make no commitments until they get the official word. No word at all on what the new slot club will be like. There is not much more they could offer me that I don't already get, except air fare, which has been put on hold for most, except solid C1 players.
Also, word is that the new company will be putting 70-million into the place, evenly split between the hotel and casino, after the takeover. Old time employees, 25-years plus at LVH, think the 35-million will do the casino a lot of good, but believe the 35-million for the hotel is not enough.
All in all, a very good trip except that I had to work while there. -
