LV Hilton offers

My first inclination was to tell you just one, but after I thought about it this might be a better solution. since you are both new to the Hilton they aren't going to pop with much on your first offer - they are getting busy enough that they are going to want to see some history before the better offers come.

With this in mind, I would play the majority on one card, then the rest on the other. This will generate two offers, most likely they will be the same. Then decide which to use for the next trip, and use the lesser for back up. This is what we do. The Hilton needs 3 days of play as your coin in totals will be averaged based on an assumption of a 3 day trip.

I have to disagree with playing on 2 cards. My first trip to the Hilton was when I had a free day and just went and played
there. The offer that they sent me was the same as I get now after a number of 3 day stays . My daily averages have stayed about the same. I have also read where they adjust your average depending on how long the stay is.
They are planning on putting through around $7500 per day as a couple, I wouldn't want to dilute my play below this
level. If, however, they are not coming in on a Hilton offer and are paying for the room, and better yet have the first night
booked on one name and the second night on the other, then they could play 1 day on the first person's account, and the
second day on the others. This could get their room comped and get mail offers in the future for each.

Sorry but I must disagree with your disagreement! How long ago was your first trip?

I took a buddy to Super Bowl week this year - he had no history at the Hilton. He played on his card for 3 days putting on at least $15,000 coin in. His first offer was for a free night if he bought one for $75. I told him to call a host - host would not even extend casino rate! This is why I feel they are looking for more history for better offers.

My wife and I have seperate accounts - she has maybe 3 trips lifetime, I am C4. Our mailed offers are identical - 3 free nights and $25 cash. She has maybe $20,000 coin in - I have over $300,000 coin in - most on .25 play.

On the 3 day trip, they adjust your balance - if the trip is over 3 days. A two day trip at $7500 per day will average to $5000 for comp purposes.

So, in my finite wisdom I still say get both accounts on the books, giving one card at least two thirds of your play. You will both get offers. Use the better one for your next trip, and don't use the other card at all - not for a comp, not to check points, nothing. It will still generate minimal offers.

We are getting two rooms in May, and "subletting" one to a couple to allow them to get established. We will use one card for the majority of play, and play enough on the other to (hopefully) continue to generate offers.

Again YMMV, but this is my experience at the LVH!

Here's another scenario/question. I'll be in Vegas April 4 - 9. Couldn't get the Hilton on Wednesday the 6th. I'm staying at the RIO Mon-Wed and the Hilton Thr and Fri. I also get 3 nights + $25 a month however I got free New Years Eve and free Super Bowl offers. If I coin in $40,000 over the 5 days but only stay the two nights how will the trip be rated?

Option 1 $40,000 / 3 day trip average $13,333 per day or
Option 2 $40,000 / 5 days of play $8,000 per day

Any thoughts.

Option 2 - no question. Just don't play less than 3 days.

I ruined my average there about 15 months ago. Stayed 3 nights, went to MSS for two nights and back to LVH. The trip was rated at 7 full days - just killed my average. They didn't care that I wasn't checked into the hotel, the slot club computers treated it as one trip. They told me I needed at least 72 hours between "trips" for them to be separate.

My first trip was about Oct. 2003. My first stay at the Hilton was Feb. 2004, I stayed Dec 2004, and Feb 2005. All the offers I have received have been pretty much the same, 3 nights and either small amount of cash or a slot tournament. All of my stays have been for 3 days except for the 1 day of play in 2003 . Maybe your friends problem was that 15k over 3 days is fairly small play.

I would be tempted to give the Hilton all their play over the time that you are staying there only. The rest of the time play
somewhere else.

Actually my friend has many problems, but.....

My wife has never had a trip of $15,000 - we get the same offers.

My point is this - I think lately they are looking for more play to get the better offers. My theory is a small amount of play on two cards will generate the same offer, at least initially, that playing more on one card will. So, play on two and reap the benefits of a paltry offer on both, build one from there. Or not, that is the simple choice.

Your first stay was over a year ago, things have changed since then. $15,000 a trip is decent, but doesn't carry the weight it did a year ago. This will probably continue as long as the monorail isn't raining metal parts on to the parking lots of greater LV.

This advice once held (re: "don't play less than 3 days) but I'm not
sure it still does.

Mind you, I've been inactive there for about 15 mo. now. However,
through the grapevine I believe I've heard that they've done away with
their former, confusing "3 day" basis trip rating and now use a simple
daily rating, irrespective of trip length.

Used to be that someone coming in for just 2 days of play would be
penalized since the play was averaged as if they were on the property
for a minimum of 3 days. If my impression is correct, they rate
similarly to most properties and your trip is evaluated simply on the
basis of actual days on the property.

It's worth checking (or more likely, someone in the know who's an
active player can report). If things haven't changed, than "g.b."'s
advice is till right on the money.
