The VPFree directory shows comps @ 1.11% or 0.55% cashback at the LV
Hilton. I asked at the slot club about redeeming points for comps
and was told comps are only available through a casino host. Based
on the information provided I believe all comps are discretionary
and only cashback is available through point redemption. Therefore,
shouldn't the comp percentage rate be eliminated from the LV Hilton
data?

Comps are discretionary. If you pop through $15K+ on a visit, then
it's worth asking to speak to a casino host to see what they might do
for you (expect a buffet comp for two for just that $15K - no promises
of this, however). With less play then that, be satisfied at a very
decent selection of vp for a strip-proximal casino with excellent
cashback.
The database comp rate of 1.11% is a very bizarre report. Even
factoring in room comps for visitors I don't think you'd get that
(unless you're looking at a room on a major holiday :). My guess is
the straight food and beverage comp rate runs about .3-.4%, but
because there isn't a set comp bank and I can't report a specific value.

My wife and I played there on January 9 for about 2
hours (played approx. 8K). We asked the host for 3
lunch buffet comps and she said "no problem". The only
other time we played there was in October 02 so they
might have considered our past play.
