I received a postcard from LVH today saying that now "Reward Dollars
will be valid for six months from the last date of activity" and
that "The unused reward dollars from your last play prior to 12/31/05
will expire on 7/1/06."
I was never much of an LVH player. Is this a big change?

Was it 13 months before? Either way, the only way this is a problem now is if you have a significant balance and can't get to LV before July. There is no advantage to leaving any money in your comp account there anymore as it is essentially now just plain old cash back.
Anyone know of any discounts available in the LVH if you use your reward dollars instead of cash any place on the property?
My best advice is to cash out all your money at the conclusion of each trip - if you are a visitor. Who knows what will happen when the "new and improved"* version of the program comes on line later this spring.
* Initial guess is all but the upper tier players are going to experience a significant reduction in comp status. The mailer I got seems to indicate that current C3 players are in for a rough ride on the change. no specific mention of this is made, but there are now only 3 levels of card - classic gets, well, very little. Elite is the middle, and you don't even get VIP lounge check in anymore. They are adding "express lanes" to stuff like restaurants, cage, check in. Ultra looks to be about what C2 is now. Nothing is mentioned about room comps for any of the levels - but classic is out, and I'll bet Elite is room comp only.
We'll see, but it doesn't look good.
