lv hilton celine dion mail offer

fyi i received in the mail yesterday a lv hilton celine dion offer
including 2 tix for saturdays in april and may. i live in southern
calif

Frank

Got the same offer (in Philly) and was very surprised, considering
that the show has reportedly been sold out for months in advance.
The offer was nicely timed so that one of the dates also coincides
with their shopping spree - must be a sign from the gambling gods. . .

ML and I also got the same offers. Be careful, Marge, and make sure
your host understands that you want to use two offers at the same
time. LVH, like many casinos, doesn't generally allow you to
participate in two offers at the same time. Sometimes they'll ok it,
but not always. In fact, if you'll read the fine print on both the
Dion and Spree offers, you'll find the following: "Offer...may not be
combined with any other offer or event."

In truth, LVH has several times permitted us to use two such offers
during the same trip, but I've always squared it with them first. And
even then, nothing is certain at LVH. Last year we played in an
invitational tournament, then went to pick up our Saks Shopping Spree
pre-paid card, but they decided to "withdraw" the offer. Eventually
they ended up giving us a couple hundred bucks for Saks, but were
clearly unhappy doing so. A particularly disagreeable VP of Casino
Operations, Jimmie Wyke (sp?), blurted out in an angry confrontation
with us (anger on both sides to be fair) that "if you were losing,
maybe we could do this, but you're winning too much." In short, I've
discovered that, even when you've gotten approval in advance for
piggybacking their overlapping offers, you have no certainty that
they'll honor their agreement with you. I don't believe that reneging
on such an agreement can be tied to any host, but rather is the result
of VP's in charge of weasel-like behavior.

One additional thought re the Celine show. Though the "official" word
is that ticket sales have been brisk, the whisper making the rounds
for some time now is that they've been having major problems moving
the better (expensive) seats. When this offer arrived, my first
thought was that the rumors may have some factual basis for it's
mighty early in the show's run to be doing wholesale Park Place offers
like this. ML got the same offer for two tickets as I, but she barely
plays in the joint. Do I catch the scent of desperation drifting
through the PP empire?

as of this morning, this offer is sold out

Frank

Good. Then I can throw mine away. I got something from Caesars Palace that mentioned Celine Dion, but didn't look too closely. I think she totally SUCKS (I know, my opinion only.) I wouldn't sit through her show unless I was being paid to do so. And quite handsomely, I might add.
Speaking of concerts- I bought a ticket to see Blue Oyster Cult in Trenton on March 14. Now I hear Ozzy Osbourne is playing The Joint at the Hard Rock the same night. Tickets are $150 a pop, but it's a small joint. (I've already seen him from the front row several times.) Should I change my plans and come to Vegas?

You can "throw" them this way... <G> My wife would walk to LV to see Celine.

Yeah, different strokes for different folks. A bunch of people (theoretically) paid $250 a pop to see her at Caesars here a couple years ago. I guess it was mostly comped high-rollers, but still, she packed the Circus Maximus. Me, If I hear "The Fart Will Go On" one more time, I'll puke.
