THE CANNERY ADDS FULL-PAY GAMES
NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Cannery Casino & Hotel's slot floor is
growing. This month, casino executives added 30 full-pay machines to
the inventory with a mix of Deuces Wild, Joker's Wild, and Double
Bonus Poker games in various denominations. The addition of the new
games is in response to player requests. "Initially, demand for
these games was low, but now we are seeing more requests. It's all
about the guest and we're responding to what they want to play," said
Dale Hambleton, Rampart Casino and Cannery Casino & Hotel director of
slot operations.
The Cannery's slot floor is among the most contemporary in the
industry with the games most preferred by a majority of players.
"We've got the newest games on the market from IGT, Williams,
Atronic, Aristrocrat, Mikohn and Bally," said Hambleton. "Since
we've opened, we've received compliments about the slot floor from
gaming industry leaders as well as customers for the layout and mix
of machines." The Cannery is the first off-Strip local casino to
offer one of IGT's newest games, I Love Lucy. In addition to the
standard poker products, other games that are player favorites
include Beverly Hillbillies, Harley Davidson, Elvira, American
Bandstand, Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right. The floor also
includes the newest reel and video reel games that offer more variety
and choices for guests.
"Las Vegans know the best games and they know what they want to play.
And, we know Las Vegans," said Hambleton. "Locals have told us they
like video poker games, video reel slots, bonusing games and great
promotions. We've got them all." Players can choose from a variety
of denominations that range from a penny to $5. Cannery guests have
made the penny and nickel games among the most popular.
The Cannery's floor also includes coinless machines and utilizes the
most up-to-date ticket-in/ticket-out technology; the property was the
first in Las Vegas to be completely coinless with its payouts.
"Ticket-in/ticket-out games are becoming very popular with local
players, so we have many of them on our floor. An added benefit of
the technology is that it allows our staff to spend more time with
each guest and to really develop important relationships with our
players," said Hambleton.
To determine which games were rolled out on opening night, Hambleton
and his staff created a list of the most popular machines currently
available. "We had to make sure that the most popular games were
included in our product mix," he said. In addition to the most
popular games and the most up-to-date technology, The Cannery's
players can find traditional reel slot machines and low denomination
games. "There are many players who still like the way the
old-fashioned reels spin and we have found that they are coming
here," he said. The Cannery has more than 75 reel slot machines. In
addition to a wide variety of games and denominations, the Cannery
slot floor is among the most comfortable. With wide aisles and
plenty of space between machine banks, guests continue to comment
that they feel very relaxed in the casino because it is so "roomy."
The Cannery's design enables guests to move about the floor without
bumping into other guests or furniture. Ease of maneuverability is a
priority. In addition, guests can locate every amenity from any
location inside the Cannery. "The property was designed so that one
can see everything inside the Cannery from wherever he or she is
standing. It's easy to locate any of the restaurants, a favorite
machine, companions and even The Club," said Hambleton. "The sight
lines are excellent throughout."
"Our goal is to be responsive to our guests and players. Whether
they want more full-pay games or penny machines, we will always do
our best to accommodate them," added Hambleton.
In addition to gaming, The Cannery Casino & Hotel features 201 hotel
rooms; four restaurants, including Waverly's Steakhouse, the Cannery
Row Buffet, Casa Cocina Mexican Restaurant and an adjacent
quick-service outlet, and Victory's Caf�; and The Club, an
indoor/outdoor entertainment and exhibit venue and pool area. The
Cannery is owned and operated by Cannery Casino Resorts, LLC, a Las
Vegas-based gaming and entertainment corporation.
