You can always try Priceline.com. Last time I traveled to Phil, I entered a
quote of half the lowest offer. It was excepted in 1 minute and I got a nice
mid size from Avis. This was the first and only time I tried Priceline and it
was because the lowest quote was 100+ for the day.

post what has been accepted/rejected by priceline, and
who the hotel/auto/airline was that accepted it.
You search by product category, then geographic area.

Thrifty is $27/day during 12/21-12/24, but i used a 10% off coupon
code so $90 for 3 days (including tax).
Enterprise is $20/day (with coupon code) but the airport one doesn't
open late. 
and why is it so high this time of year. if i was going this week
(12/15), prices are $13/day.
