LV Advisor 2010 Coupons

I don't understand why counterfeiting is a problem since it clearly says that coupons from LVA must be pulled from the book in front of the dealer.

Even though it says that on the coupon, a lot of people have it torn from the book ahead of time.

The counterfeiting claims seem exaggerated and I'll point to the $5 Palace Station LVA coupon that was pulled using that excuse. C'mon now if someone is going to counterfeit dont you think they're going to target a higher denom coupon for a casino with many more table games? It seems the counterfeit excuse is used when casinos want to yank the promotion and get both themselves and the publisher off the hook with their customers.

A simple slot club, or pit (like Rampart), validation fixes the abuse problem as johnnyzee stated. Yanking the entire inventory of matchplays seems like a snap decision and an overreaction. I read the thread on Las Vegas Advisor where Anthony Curtis said the casinos didn't want the matchplays. Can someone please send him the 2010 American Casino Guide which has more matchplay coupons then ever before? I guess Steve Bourie didn't get that memo. :slight_smile:

LVA is going to need to see a dramatic reduction in the number of subscribers if they're going to consider bringing back the table matchplays.

The bottom line is if you're looking for the +EV play then the 2010 ACG has a significantly higher rate of return then the 2010 LVA.

In other coupon news, Casino Player eliminated their Funbook in 2009 and promised all their subscribers E-coupons. As of Dec 31 at 11:59:59, they failed to deliver a single coupon. The (useless) monthly issues have consistently been late and have gotten thinner each month due to reduced casino advertising. Refund requests have been ignored. Can someone please put Casino Journal Publishing on the casino death watch?

Amen to that! Counterfeiting LVA coupons is useless if the rules for using them are followed. This is just a smokescreen. At Ellis Island. each place mat has a $5.00 coupon!

I was in the Golden Gate a couple of days ago with a coupon from the ACG for $5 matchplay. Lady at the desk logged the coupon into my account and gave me a chip. Took about a minute. Seems like that solves it as it makes it a one use coupon per year.

I totally agree. That is why when my "auto renewal" was coming close, I called 1-800-969-0711 and said "please do NOT renew". I was receiving the monthly issue with news, show dates etc. from the previous month, time after time! Kept thinking it would get better, but never did.

Make that "had a $5.00 coupon"...as in past tense...the coupons on the place mats were discontinued a month or so ago.
