lucky trip & having too much money on ya

If you happen to be fortunate enought to win all kinds of cash yet are leery of carrying it all home with you, try sending some registered mail. USPS has to sign off on it at each stopping point and you have to sign that you've received it.

Banks send $ this way when necessary and no courier is available.

Can't you also go find an ATM that accepts deposits and "rid yourself
of it" that way; assuming you have an ATM card?

When you went to the various banks that turned you down, did you ask
for either a cashier's check or money order? Did you consider asking
for less than $10,000 and getting money orders/cashiers check from
two or three banks? (Hindsight can be a great thing!)

As for ATMs, I don't think you can make a deposit unless it is an ATM
that belongs to your bank. (Am I right?) I also don't like making
cash deposits into an ATM especially for a large amount of money.

I've made deposits into ATM's that weren't my bank's machines, and
never had any problems(or delays) in getting them posted to my
account. Admittedly, these were always ATM's of other "local" banks -
never one far away or on vacation, nor was the amount ever very
large. If I recall correctly, they were also always check deposits,
never cash, as well.
