lower comp rates - park place - specifically Ballys/Paris

I was at Bally's/Paris this weekend for a good offer - play 4 hrs and get
$500 in cash. I noticed that though I earned $116 in cashback, the comp meter
only went up $8. I asked about it and was told that because I was there on
an offer with room and limited food and beverage (buffets plus coffee shop and
most bars - $75 per day of booze at bars except for premium bars), the
accumulating comps meter was a lot less.

My host couldn't tell me if I had come without an offer, would I have ended
up earning more comps than I used or not.

Also she said she thinks that when Harrahs takes over at the end of the
year, they may make people in on offers use up all accumulated comps first for
any offer costs - so you would basically lose accumulated comps and then never
accumulate more. But she isn't sure.

She thinks it might be a good idea to use up accumulated comps before
Harrah's take over.

She hopes to know more in another month and I'll try to find out.

Thanks for the information. It would seem to make sense that Harrahs
will force the former PP properties to follow their comp system...no
discretionary comps until your own reward credit account is tapped.

One note...I think we have until late Spring/Summer until this sale
is finalized. One of the ABC Government entities (FTC, SEC, XYZ,
SMF??) declared that they want to take a 'second look' at the
proposed acquisition before they give their approval. This will delay
the deal for several months.
