Does anyone know what it takes to qualify to use the lounge at Mohegan
Sun? I have never been able to use it, but I haven't tried very hard.
Someone told me if I went during a slow time I might have a better
chance of getting in.

They have become must stricter in letting people in. You need a theo
of about 400 to get in. That is about 5000 coin in playing VP. That
will get you in for 5 visits. I don't think they vary the criteria
when it is slow. The computer lets them know if you are eligible or
not.

Mel,
That doesn't sound very strict. $5000 coin in is less than 2 hours of
VP gambling. Plus you can get in for 5 visits with that one action?
I "wish" I lived nearby. Wouldn't have much of a food/liquor budget!

Last year management told the hosts that the lounge requirement was
being raised to a $425 daily theo. It's been a while since I checked,
but PKM rated at 5.1% would mean $8333 coin-in which is 93 points
earned. No one knows the computer's precise formula, but it does check
your play up to the last 30 days. A host says you get one lounge day
for every qualifying day. It does seem to accumulate your extra
action, since I've noticed that your first day to qualify after a long
lay-off seems the hardest, and then after a big session gets easier.
So you might just get 5 days if you have a $43000 ($463 point) day -- a
day being 6am-6am. It might get easier when not busy because a host is
more apt to overide the computer and let you in anyways if you're
close -- don't be afraid to try, they do it a lot.

Dori and I were there for the team slot tournament and brought
another couple with us. I have been checking my theo with my host
after I play which is 99% bart tops JOB. The theo on those works
out to be about 8%(the formula is complicated and my director
doesn't even know all that goes into it) After getting into the
lounge our friends tried and her theo was about 425 and was told she
could get in and could get in 4 more times by the hosts. Maybe there
are no hard fast rules but that was what they told us a month ago.

Back in June 2005 [see comment section in the database], I mentioned
I found that the theo on those JoB bartops was 8.35% (as opposed to
the .25 PKM which was 4.5%) and we talked about how the penny option
on those multi-games must be making the theo higher. So yes, on
those you would not need as much coin-in as $1 PKM. I think the
formula for lounge admission might be complicated, but a machines
theo I think is a simple straitforward % of what you put in; I do not
see how they could make it any more complicated, unless they use
separate theos for different games when you play more than one on the
same machine.
As for the 4 more lounge days, did she play on days and not use the
lounge? Because that could help her accumulate additional lounge
days. The first day I play after a lay-off, I usually on purpose do
not use the lounge; that way on my next visit, I can use the lounge
right away before and during my play without having to always wait
until I qualify on a given day first.

This was the first time that she qualified on her VP play. Also, I
was told by my host that if you win or loose also has a small affect
on your theo but it is basically the amount you play. The bar tops
don't distinguish between the games when it comes to theo and are
all rated as penny slots. My theo is high enough that I can get into
the lounge on days I don't play so I am only expressing what I have
been told

RE: LOUNGE REQURIMENT:
Kerri: My understanding is to play 5-hours a day...of course the higher the
denomination, the better the chance. It's not the number of trips you give them
but rather how long and how much. I was approached by a slot host .while playing
a VP machine for an invite.
