Louisiana Non-Resident Tax

Michigan does the same thing to residents (don't know about non-residents).
If you get a W2G in a Michigan casino, and you're a resident of the state, you
owe income tax on it. Period. Changes the return calculations on
progressives, and puts a big dent in certain games like $5 DB and the $2 PickEm because
all quads in either game are W2G events.

Louisiana does not have a place on the tax form to list federal
itemized deductions. This is true for the resident form, and I would
assume it applies to the non-resident form as well. What it amounts
to - as you have discovered - is that you have to pay taxes on your
winnings with no offset for your losses. And yes, it's extremely
unfair.
