loss of a royal

I have seen cards unhold themselves while pausing to take a drink or make sure that the hand I've chosen to hold is actually held.. Hands nowhere near a button for seconds. I've also seen machines unhold cards in that instant that I hit the draw button. I've seen this behavior on older IGT models. Never on one of the newer touch screen jobs.

However, it does not sound like any of what I've described are what happened.
Nevertheless, it seems VERY bizarre for a card to just decide to go from "hold"
to "draw" if the button hasn't been hit in the last second or so -- that's about
all it should take to assure that it is "registering" as one wishes.

I don't know how to classify them old or older, but they can be
played touching the screen or the buttons. They have been around for
a while.

Anyway, I have had them unhold a card during the redeal.

I think at least some of the phenomenon can be attributed to sticky
hold buttons, loose contacts, etc. On touch screens, static electricity
and dirty, dusty screens can cause your cards to hold/unhold
themselves. I have kind of taken it as a matter of course during my
(gasp ! too many) years of play.

Yeah, there's a lot of these around, especially as the years go by.
These are basically defective machines, of course there's no real
incentive for a casino to fix or replace them. It just ends up being
another way that a casino gets its hold. If you check the news,
revenues might be way down, but casinos hardly ever lose money, even
with supposedly "loose" and "player advantage" machines.

I consider an old machine, an upright, and also if there is or was a
former coin slot. And well, they also look old!

I haven't had a card unhold, but have had the touch screens out of
calibration and select different cards than what I expected.
