1) Understand what expert play is all about. Read Vpfree database info
to get started. The first task is understanding the paytables. The
better the paytables the more likely you will be successful. Start here
and read the FAQ first:

2) Buy one of the many software packages that helps you learn proper
play for the games you wish to play. Practice, practice, practice ...

3) Now you can go to a casino

Jerry, I wrote the book "Frugal Video Poker" for players just like you. This book doesn't hit you with a lot of math at the first, but starts you out with the very simple basics and then slowly nudges you up that path of skilled play that you seem to want to be on. Also, this book is a manual for the software program "Frugal VP," so while you are studying the book, you can practice each lesson on your computer. That will make the learning go faster.

You can order those two products at my Web site below - and for just $60, you have a complete beginners package. Then when you have mastered the basics and practiced a lot on your VP program, you can check the Resources in the back of the book for tons more information sources.

In the meantime, explore the database here at vpFree for a lot of helpful information. But don't feel frustrated if it seems too much and too hard. Once you get my book and learn the basics, you will understand more and more of it.

"The more you study the "luckier" you will be."

Skillful luck!!!!

I disagree, it wasn't IMNSHO a shameless plug it was perfectly good
advice that will meet the needs that the user posted very well.
Frugal
Video poker really is an excellent place for a newbie to start out.
I
don't want our authors to start spamming us constantly but I haven't
noticed that to be a problem here. And there is definately nothing
wrong with giving useful and appropriate advice, like Jean did. I
for
one appreciate our authors, their contribution to this group and the
excellent articles that they write that anyone here can enjoy for
free. M
