I thought I had sent this out previously, but fortunately printed a copy so
am now re- entering story.
First really good news this pastMonday thru Sunday. Monday hit deuces twice
on same machine at Orleans. Wednesday hit deuces again at Palms, twice on
same machine. Sunday, yep you guessed it, was at Suncoast and hit deuces
twice on the same machine. What a week. Now here is the next installment of
the Loong Trip Report #3
Well, how do I like Las Vegas so far? I am still on sensory overload. Too
many casinos to check out, too little time. I love shopping here in the
groceries. We live in a tiny village in Ohio so to walk in to a nearby store
and see groceries avaialable I used to drives mile getting, is a real joy.
The mountains and skies are beautiful here and the sun shines all the time
unlike gloomy Ohio.
Coast Casinos has lots of full pay vp at the .25 level. Orleans has some
triple play full play 10/7 DB in .05. We consider Suncoast our home casino
as it is closest to wear we live. In talking to Donna about discretionary
comps, she indicated that yes, it has tightened up, but mainly for certain
players Coast felt was abusing the system.
I spoke to her Dec 1 in the afternoon. We intend to continue playing at
Suncoast and have added Orleans and Gold Coast. We will have to see how
recent developements go at Orleans whether we will continue to play there.
We also like the Palms, but you have to use points for everything, no cash
back. So far we have gotten what we asked for by using points and are
already on their mailing list. I got a wind chime and a birthday invite.
As far as the Station casinos go, we have visited Texas Statin, Sunset
Station and Green Valley Ranch. All of these are somewhat difficult to get
to, altho Green Valley Ranch is the easiest. We plan to check out GVR again
later this week. We did observe at both Texas and Sunset, lines to the promo
desks were excessively long.
Is this a constant there?
No one can play successfully every casino around, so here is what we have
decided to do. We will play at Suncoast, Gold Coast, Orleans, Palms and
Green Valley. We will probably play three or four hours each day and rest up
for other non gambling stuff on the other two days off. Unfortunately our
host casino Barbary Coast is being left off the mix due to three main
problems: too smokey, not easy to get to and reduction and age of machine
inventory and seating. We will miss the romantic rooms, Michaels, but the
other Coast Casinos will still get our business. All this is subject to
change of course.
