Look Ma, No Mike Ditka

I, too, was watching for Mike, but to no avail. Rats to Howard's Mom and
rats for me!

Chandler, the 75 to 1 odds ( or would it be 74 to 1 as there are 75 total
and I have one? Like in a royal flush 4 to the draw the odds are 47 to 1?) are
derived as 25 fianslists are drawn each month for 3 months. If you are one of
the 25 (and are not there, or in my case I was there but did not hear my
name) whose name is called each month, they send you a congratulatory letter
with all the information. You win $50 (as opposed to $1000 If you hear your
name) and sign an agreement to be at home on the specified date (7/11 in this
case) between the hours of 6-8 p.m.

Any one else on the board who waited for Mike last night?

Thanks. I did not know how the contest was structured. I guess if I had a
1 in 75 shot at 100K I'd be looking out the window waiting with beer, brat
and cigar as a small token of my appreciation to Mr. Ditka.

Harrah's Joliet: Used the free room offer mailed as a come on after the EC
sale. Roughly 1100 points triggered another free room offer good almost
anytime in July, buffet and 4 $30 coupons. We used that offer this weekend
to coincide with Route 66 Speedways' Tournament of Destruction. Smashing
cars and gamblin'--Take that Lollapalooza. Rooms are very nice and very
similar to EC rooms. Bathrooms are just slightly inferior to those at EC.
the $1 50 plays in the roller room are fast and usually available. I
noticed that the 1$ Super Times Pay machines in the roller room can be
played 1 hand at a time. Is this standard on all STP?

Empress Joliet: Nice spacious casino. I haven't been there since before
the conversion to a barge facility. NSUD can be played at the quarter level
and is a much better lowroller play than Harrah's. There is CB. I wonder
if they have multi point days?

Resorts EC: A couple of visits of 4 to 6K plus seem to have generated a free
room offer for limited days. Bounce seems to be pretty stingy. The casino
seemed to be very slow with lower table minimums than Harrah's tended to
have the last time we visited. I do hope they are squeezed by the
competition a little bit to sweeten up the offers and inventory.

Horseshoe Hammond: I noticed during a recent visit that the good $ machines
in the roller room have placards that say they are not eligible for multi
point promotions. The steakhouse is good, but the service was very slow
during a recent visit.
