Hi Mark,

I read your report with interest. I was at the SL last month, and
will be going back next month. I found it much as you describe,
however, I NEVER go to casino on a Holiday weekend due to the crowds
and kids present.
I think it's quite unusual that you record each session, in such
detail. I presume this is, at least partially, for Uncle Sam.
I also find it intriguing that you range in denom. between .25 &
5.00! I ALWAYS play .25. Because of the extremely long hours that
I play (usually 13-15/day) I still manage to run $9,000-10,000 per
day through the machines. On bad days, this still puts me $600-$800
negative for the day. That's quite enough for me, thank you! I
guess I don't really have the dispostion for higher limits, and,
since I still get my kicks out of quarters, it works for me.
Except for 9/6DDB, and a very occasional 9/6JoB, or 8/5B, I ALWAYS
play positive expectation vp, at about 99% overall accuracy. I just
can't nitpick certain hands where EV is only affected by a penny or
2. It ceases to be entertainment then, and entertainment is the
reason I play. When I want to make living, I go home and work at my
profession.
Anyway, I enjoyed reading about your experiences, and hope that you
have much better luck next time.
P.S. I'm REALLY GLAD to hear that you have the courtesy to go
outside to smoke your cigars. I have literally been forced to leave
a casino because of the choking smell of cigar smoke blowing in my
face. I congratulate you (and your mother) on your good manners!
