LOL, Painful VP sight...

LoL, was playing at Silver Legacy this weekend on the 101% Joker
Poker's and just plodding along, and the guy next to me got dealt a 4-
card Royal (10-K of Clubs) and everyone pretty much does the same thing
when dealt the four card Royal...immediately hold the cards and sit
there for a second and just think and hope, and I noticed him doing
this, so I stopped for a second to look over...BAM, Ace of Clubs
hit...ding ding ding, 4700 coin royal...congrats and high fives were
exchanged...
But is there anything more painful than seeing the ONLY machine next to
you, hit the 4700 coin Joker Poker Royal....ouch ouch ouch, lol.

Is the 4700 a hand pay?

Yes, there is a more painful sight- having someone sit down and hit a
progressive within a few hands that you have been trying to hit for a
while.......I don't mind if it was someone else that has been pounding
away for a while, either.

But just any single machine next to me does not matter; I made the
choice to pick the one I'm on or not move to the other one when it
opened up.

Just my opinion- Thanks, Lee.

Amazingly, there, I guess it is. Even though it's not $1200+, it still
locks up the machine and is a hand-pay...

I guess doing it like that WOULD be more painful..but the fact that
it's the machine RIGHT next to yours...lol, just a funny thing I guess.

The way those RPG's that control the machine function you would have
had to have hit the deal button the very same instance that he did had
you been sitting there, not a very likely thing. So don't sweat it
likely the result would have been different had you been sitting
there

I agree. That can drive you crazy. I was at the Eldorado a while back chasing a $5 Progressive Royal on the 9/6 JOB. My wife and I chased it all weekend. Got up early Sunday morning to play and it was around $34K. Sat down and within about 30 minutes, I got dealt 4 to the Royal and missed. About 10 minutes later, the guy next to me got 3 to it and hit it. It kind of shook me for a minute, but what can you do. I congratulated the guy. He had played a lot on those machines as well. BTW, 15 mins after the guy hit the progressive, I got 4 to the Royal again, but missed....Good luck...

While playing at Harrah's Tahoe Sunday, one of 3 ladies next to me hit a
Royal for $1000 on her last $20. Dancing, laughing, backslapping was
fun for the first 5 minutes but got old after 30 minutes and down
right annoying after 2 hours.

That would be annoying. If I hit a royal, it's no more than a few minutes of celebration...unless of course I hit ANOTHER Royal, haha.

That would have probably been more painful, as that's BIIIG money. Meh, I never even got four to the Royal the entire weekend.
I was chasing a 5c Royal at Cal-Neva this weekend, it was up at $500...

You must of been in shock since you continued playing AFTER the game became -EV. Doh!!
