Next poll. Which is more holds more value. A VPFree database or a
sample site from the contender??

Strange to hear Lodestone called a contender as it has been around a lot
longer.

Each of us gets something different from our examination of the elephant
depending on our perceptions and where we start.

Currently I'm on a 2-week trip in LV. I've accessed Lodestone and then vpFREE
for verification. There is more detail in Lodestone. vpFree has a consistent
format.

Another source is Lodestone's News which is a great source if you're willing
to put in the work to read it all & read between the lines.

All of this does make life easier but I wish we could turn the clock back to
when all I had was vpTutor and my own 2 legs to ferret out information.

Nowadays, with all the info posted at light-speed, with software such as FVP,
VPSM & WinPoker, the pool of knowledgeable players is much greater by several
orders of magnitude ao the current measures against advantage players should
come as no surprise. What is surprising is that intelligent people want to
organize this information even more and make it more accessible. Guess what
happens to the growth rate?

I haven't been a player for very long, I went from tourist to player in '96
when I discovered my losses in NV were a lot less than my outlays for Disney
World. That was the golden age for me as promotions were much stronger than
they are now and you could play on intuition and still break even. Nowadays,
it's play NSUD, JB and hope that you get enough bounceback to cover your
losses and that they don't break it into too many small pieces or change the
program after you've invested a lot of play.

Yes you can play FPDW but it's better to just get a job and get laid off as
the bounceback stream from unemployment is a lot less volatile and lasts a
lot longer. With the low interest rates, the stream doesn't lose much when
it's discounted to present value.

The players who've been in it longer are probably wishing for the days when
there weren't analytical tools as I've heard stories of fantastic plays which
make you regret being born so late.

It's a daunting thought, but can you imagine that there are players who are
just starting out who will consider today the "golden age"?

Wow, the two things my wife and I talk about is that even though we are
behind for four years of VP play it is still less than we would have spent
on ONE trip to Disney World. Our free rooms for the last four years are in
the hundreds.

And your next comment we also relate to. Everytime we find a good promo,
cash back etc. as soon as we start playing it it gets changed , eliminated,
etc.

If you look closely at the Lodestone SAMPLE site that was being
referenced-- http://www.vphomepage.com/samples/top40.htm, you would
clearly see that the information on the SAMPLE is from 7/1/2002. I
have subscribed to SkipStone's site (now just Skip)in the past when I
was starting out. Now this site has all the info I need now that I
am an established player. It is amazing how last years info. still
pertains to plays out there since things are changing (rapidly) all
the time. PS The $1 FPDB at River Palms in Laughlin have been
downgraded to 9/7 with 10x points. I went to Harrahs play the $1 DB
there.
