however, that limits my spending, is not to have to work again full-time ever.

Work? <<shudder>>

You are so right. We have to temper our "obsessions" with a little
common sense and not spend (or bet) next week's grocery money. But
seems most the members of this list are intelligent and not apt to
give in to the 'dark side of the force'.
