You think the guy who authored Microsoft Word doesn't have the money to play at this level? Believe it or not, not everyone plays quarters like me! Why would he lie? how do you explain the pictures? Why would Vpfae state that he knows him? among others that know him too?

I dont think he's lying. I've met him before. He plays a lot of higher
stakes poker. He's kinda an ass, but I dont think he would have any
interest in making up a story about big Video Poker hits.

There are a lot of people on these forums who have met him (including me). He is for real. I found him to be a nice guy, btw. Of course, he may have changed (he does appear to have somewhat less hair than the last time I saw him, but then, don't we all?)
I first met him when he was playing a fifty-play quarter machine with 101% KBJW I had been tipped to. He was already a vpplayer.con subscriber, but I had no idea who he was (the original author of Word).
He posted regularly on vpmail for quite a while and was a great source of info for me about High roller issues. But he's been into a lot more stuff now and I haven't heard from him for a while. In any case, I see no reason whatsoever not to believe him.

On a cab ride from strip to downtown, I remember a driver tid bit.
He laughs when folks from back come to Vegas and look him up. They

I think even well off folks sometime have trouble even conceiving
someone sitting down at a vp machine and going into the tank for
150G. Its a shock. I can remember when losing $100 kept me awake at
night. Now an afternoon might cost a few thousand on 5s. Hell, even
dollars could do that. I'm sure there many on this form that spend
way more, till the royal. I'd never mention to a non player at home
how much a losing trip was. They'd want to lock me up in the nut
house. Gamblling ain't fun unless it hurts to lose. In this case it
just takes more for this player to have fun.
By the way, is the hit $240,000? Or should we be thinking, he hit a
2400 unit royal? Well ... two of them. The way I look at it is it's
a royal weather it's nickle or hundreds. It's no different than me
dumping $2400, or so, to hit a $4000 royal. It's just units.
