Bob, thank you for your kind words. I'm overly sensitive right now because I
can't stop crying about my dogs. Buddy, Ralph and Maggie were a beloved part
of my family for many years--Buddy and Ralph were badly abused before we got
them. Buddy only had three legs, amputation caused by severe abuse, saved
his life--Ralph was left without food or water plus he had valley fever when
the previous owners moved without him. All three were very close to each other,
never left in a kennel--my mom dog sat--and had wonderful lives. My students
adored Buddy, although they called him "tripod" or "fraction"--Bob, thank
you for your kind words. I'm overly sensitive right now because I can't stop

It is terrible to lose a companion animal at any time. The comfort comes
later, when we remember the good times.. the hole in your heart will fill with
those memories trust me. We know when we take them in that we will likely
outlive them but that unconditioned, unqualified love makes it all worthwhile.
