I think ak said a lot in this message. It was a history lesson and had a moral to it. We all play to get the points to spend them at the casino, within the next week there will be a multiple point day somewhere and you earn them back again.....so they will be there to use the next time you need a good meal or a mediocre buffet. How much food and logo wear can you use? Does the one with the most points on their card when they die win?
George and I very rarely ask for a discretionary comp, usually when the kids are in town and we need a room somewhere (like, twice in the last 5 years). If a host calls us and offers a comp we take them up on it. We still have millions of slot points and have never missed a meal....if you know us, you know we look like we have never missed a meal!!
Time marches on...the bean counters have spoken - don't we wish it was like the old days - but it ain't!! Thanks, ak for a reality check.
