Lightning strikes twice - in a bad way.

Some of you may know that Palms is having a Scratch off promotion with 3
drawings. Well last Friday my name was called (with 27 entries in), but
unfortunately we couldn't be there due to other committments. Today was the
2nd drawing. My husband had only 1 entry and figured there was no way he was
going to win, what with thousands of these scratchies in the drum, so he
didn't go. You guessed it -- he gets called. Sigh. Sob. Oh well. There
goes $2000.....

But I guess it just proves that sometimes 1 lonely entry is enough.

Don't know if those entries go back in the drum or not, but guess we will
show up next week for 3rd drawing. I'm positive that lightning won't strike
again...but who knows....

One time, I went on a bus tour/turn-around trip to Laughlin River
Palms, which often has daily-monthly dwgs. for cash winners.

This one lady on our bus had 1 free entry for the 3 pm dwg, just like
most of us. We just arrived at 2 pm. She put her ONE entry in and
was called. She also had to beat out 3 others in a 5 min. slot
tourney to get the grand dwg prize of $1000 - so you never know.

My best luck was at Silverton, last year, in 3rd week of a dwg drum
that had NOT been emptied. I had maybe 20 tix in drum filled with
probably 5,000 tix. I won Official Winter Olympic hat, t-shirt AND
small cash prize.

In a local indian casino dwg, my friend and I had nearly 50% of the
tix., but DIDN't get called. So it goes both ways.

Good luck to all - Martin.

and note:
I really do NOT like drawing promotions.
If you've been there when the WINNERS are given
up to 3 min. and don't show, sometimes it takes up to 30 min.
just to get a real winner. All this does is draw a crowd INTO
the casino - but nobody is PLAYING for 30-45 min, until dwg. promo
is over. (I guess the mgt. doesn't care, as long as PEOPLE
are crowding INTO the casino. And if you came to play,
most likely machines are full and no empty seats).
Rant over.

The best I've ever done in a drawing is last Sunday at Trump Plaza. They had a promo going where the computer would randomly pick a slot machine every five minutes and whoever was playing it got $500. They picked me, my first "drawing" win bigger than a t-shirt. I also hit a royal that day on 8/5 Bonus. It was the day after my birthday, so I thank The Donald for the presents.
I usually don't like drawing promotions either. The casino hypes it up, and then your chances of winning are almost nill. But this Trump Plaza thing sounded good, as they would pick 84 machines over the 7-hour promo, and all you have to do is play, which I would anyway.
