Just a quick example from my life. I was hired as a legal assistant and when
my arthritis made it difficult for me to handle the huge file folders they
use, instead of "reasonable accommodation," I was simply fired. Not
incompetent, not insubordinate, doing my work just fine (they offered a very nice letter
for reference) but they didn't have to follow any of the national laws
concerning disability. I phoned a couple of lawyers, got the reality check and
dropped it.
