My only experience playing tourneys is at River Palms(Laughlin).
They have a free 5 minute one every other Tuesday, $5k/pays 25 places.
The machines (Bally Gamemakers?) were in tournament mode, a Jacks or
Better game. Here is the taytable:
(75,150,200,250,500,1000,1500,2000,2500)
Put it in units based on Jacks it computes to:
(1,2,2 2/3,3 1/3,6 2/3,13 1/3,20,266 2/3,333 1/3)
So Flushes, Full Houses, Straight Flushes are enhanced, one/two pair
the same, the rest diminished in value, compared to 9/6 JB.
Messing with Winpoker a Royal pops up every 63,829 hands. The first
order of business in strategy change is to save any non-pair three
flushes.
Questions: What is the IGT tourney mode paytable? Are most tourneys
JB based games, or do they get exotic?
The Pioneer is going to offer their "Doc Holiday's VP Shootout"
starting next week, Tues and Weds. for the Snowbird season. They have
their own tourney room/machines. I think it is 20 minute/1500
credits/300 hands sessions, top score wins with just one round. $20
to enter-100% returned as prize fund.
Anyone play this before, remember the game/paytable? How about some
VP tourney stories?
