Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe your idea in all this is to stretch
a limited bankroll out a longer time, say an entire weekend visit. $100?
was that the amount? Have you considered all the other expenses
involved, taxi, tips, meals, Starbucks coffee etc? Wouldn't it be better
to stay home and save up some more bankroll so you can do the classical
method of bringing more than you can possibly lose? I do that for every
session I do as a local Las Vegan. I tire out and leave either down $200
or with a profit, makes no difference to me as I'm playing the optimum
game at computer learned strategy. I mentioned in a previous post about
going to the Plaza for the triple point coupon. I lost $200 in three
hours but I was tired at the end. The week before that was my famous
"sour dough toast" session. I took $200 and ended up hitting the deuces
and cashing out quite a bit more than I came with..
Another thing, we vp players play at the fastest speed possible with as
few mistakes as possible. That involves knowing the perfect strategy as
well as we can. You'd have to know two different strategies for the same
game if one coin to five coin play and how much fun could that be.
Why not bring more money and play at a 1.5% higher EV?
Another thing something else. In my most recent visit to the a fore
mentioned Plaza, there was a guy sitting down from me hogging two of the
five remaining FPDW machines and doing things that were meant to spread
his play or something. He arrived with ten rolls of quarters, opened
them all up then preceded to feed in the coins. I didn't notice much
more at that point but heard a different noise from his direction. I
finally looked over and saw he was cashing out all the coins every time
he hit something larger than three of a kind. I joked to myself, 'He must
know something I don't know and I don't think he's going to tell me.' In
effect he was playing at a rate of probably 350 games per hour to my 600
so if perfect strategy his play was earning about half the average profit
per hour. I noticed a few players walking by looking for a FPDW machine
while his tray was overflowing with quarters. Would you feel comfortable
hogging a full pay machine if they were limited in number in a casino for
your one coin play if others couldn't get to it? BTW,
I'm not saying come over to our way at all. If I knew what you looked
like I'd give up my machine a little before I tired out just so the
casino could see more profit from that machine. 1.5% more adds up you
know?

You also have given me advice about playing the best machines under
the best conditions. Well, sure, that is what every player wants all
the time. But a lot of players end up with freeplay at Treasure
Island broke, or at Trump Plaza with some dollars, or at a boat in
Iowa or wherever. What do they do then? Playing Little Green Men is
fun, but if you like Video Poker, you try to play it the best way
under the conditions given. Not every place in the world has FPDW.
