Less Morongo?

I haven't played at Morongo in ages as their VP sucks (or at least it did last time I tried)but they have never sent me any mail at all. They are heavily advertising being the casino with the best cash-back option right now....if they don't send you cash back coupons wonder how you get it? anyone play there recently?
Pechanga is always the one that amazes me......I have gone in there numerous times and played for maybe 2-3 hours dropping $500+ in losses in that short time and NEVER got one single peice of mail from them. Guess you need to be losing over $1000 to get their attention!

also was wondering if most everyone is getting the coupon cut-back effect. I use to get food coupons along with my free-play/room coupons from both Agua Caliente and Fantasy Springs but the last few months the free buffet or $15 food coupon's have just vanished. I asked a host and she tried to tell me it was related to my play but that is untrue as my play is a bit heavier than previous if anything.

I think its just another one that can be chalked up to the economy..... :o(

I don't play much at any Harrahs' casino anymore. Too many video poker paytable downgrades.

But I must give them credit for one thing. At least I heard from them once in awhile. Sometimes too much mail, but always a little something.

And then there's Morongo.

I can honestly admit that Morongo has mailed or emailed me the absolute least of any casino ever in proportion to my play. And that includes woeful San Manuel who at least would send a little Freeplay offer my way. Sometimes as low as $10 (hey, the economy is hurting), but always that occasional "something".

I mention this because most of us don't live anywhere near Morongo. So, a nice room comp (even if it's midweek), or even a discount, would be considered. Or even a buy one, get one buffet. Anything.

But so far - nothing.

So I'm just wondering if any of you ever hear from Morongo. I've played $1 and higher, and I know I could track down a host if I made the effort.

But sometimes a little unsolicited attention wouldn't hurt either.

Morongo has, without question, the finest buffet on the block. Much better
than the sandwiches at the gas station.
And the video poker? Better than what you'll find at any airport.

With attractions like these, there's really no need for them to waste money
on FreePlay.
Better spent on security to manage the huge throngs desperate to play.

I have always redeemed my Morongo points for cash hoping an eventual food coupon would come in the mail. Since it hasn't I intend to try their buffet next time.

I can tell you that the San Manuel seafood buffet on Saturdays is pitiful if you compare it to anything you have ever enjoyed in Vegas. Even Palm Springs Spa is much better. At San Manuel for $23.95 (I think) the advertised crab legs were the thinnest I have ever seen. You didn't need the "cracker" to get inside the leg because once you did the sliver of meat was about half the width of a pencil. The salmon was farmed, not wild, and thus pale in color and bland in taste. Shrimp were O.K. but not jumbo and had the grey peel on them.

If you are still not discouraged by San Manuel, this tops it all-they HIDE the good desserts! I saw a lady walking by with chocolate covered strawberries and pineapple upsidedown cake which were nowhere in the dessert display. Instead are the usual squares of cut cake, brownies, cookies, etc which are OK but not for a $24 dinner. You literally have to find someone to go into a secret refrigerator and retrieve the special desserts. I won't bother eating there again but just wanted to pass that tip along.

With spending that much at Pechanga you should be getting mailers. I do. Check to make sure they have your address correct and that it is not accidentailly marked as "no delivery". As for Harrah's I stop playing at them and they stopped all communciation with me. Not a lost in my opinion.

Harrahs isn't looking for people like you or me. They are looking for less knowledgeable gamblers who don't want an upscale experience. I call Harrahs the Wal-Mart of casinos. They would have made a fortune with decent VP paytables and great service. As it is, the best they can do for upscale is to lure people to Seven Star status with a free cruise and trip once a year. But for the $ million coin-in I would never consider it a worthwhile use of my funds. That money can buy you a lot of play at nicer places.
