Finally got around to seeing Le Reve Friday. I'll echo the recent sentiments of others in this forum: outstanding. The show had gotten some lukewarm reviews early on, and had plenty of good, empty seats (on a Friday, no less!). Whatever problems may have existed in the past must have been ironed out; I think this show is on par with the best in town. The circular venue is a big plus; not a bad seat in the house. I'd rank it even with O, Ka, and Mystere.
Le Reve is dreamy!
I was treated to this show for my birthday and really enjoyed it (especially the theatre), but
Steve Wynn is revamping the whole thing and it will be completely different. He bought the
rights to the show from Franco Dragone because he was unhappy with it's similarities to "O"
and wants to go in a different direction. Considering that "O" is one of, if not the, most
popular show on the Strip (though I preferred "Mystere"), I would think he'd be happy with the
vague similarities. So, be warned that any future show may not be what's showing through
the summer, at least.
