Le Reve/ Cirque shows

Le Reve is not a Cirque du Soliel show - however it was produced by Dragone,
who used to do the work at the Cirque, and is quite similar. He also did
the Celine Dion show (at Caesars Palace). Actually I'm not sure if he is the
producer, director, choreographer, or perhaps all three -- whatever - he is
the head guy.

I have seen Le Reve twice and enjoyed it. It has been changed and tightened
since it was originally shown. It is very much Cirque-like. I found it
quite good, probably 2nd to "O" or 3rd to "Love".

The worst show is definitely Zumanity -- which didn't go far enough in its
erotic premise, in my opinion.

I did forget to mention regarding Beatles, that there is no need to arrive
early for the "preshow" as there is for "O'" or "Mystere." The clowns are
pretty much useless before the show, and you can't see them except if they are
in your section.

Here's the interesting thing. 2 more Cirque shows are scheduled for Vegas.
Chris Angel/Cirque at the Luxor and Elvis-oriented Cirque.

The question really is - how many of these shows can Vegas support. It would
seem to me that the longest running show, Mystere, is probably losing steam.
These shows are expensive, and many aspects are similar. A new visitor to
Vegas would only want to see 1 of these shows during a trip.

Vegas is so crowded now, maybe there is enough demand for multiple Cirque
shows, but I have my doubts.

My suggestion for a 1st time visitor is to see "O", "Jubilee" and "Phantom
of the Opera" or "Mama Mia" - with a daytime show such as Mac King or Society
of Seven or Ron Lucas - if they really love shows and can spare the time.

Later visits might include a magician such as Lance Burton or Rick Thomas,
"Ka" or "Love" or "Le Reve" and a comedian such as George Wallace or Rita
Rudner.

Then work your way down the list of other entertainment.

Not recommended - Danny Gans - dated material and overpriced. For $50 a
good show, not for $100. Wayne Newton - his voice is gone - he tries and has a
great group of performers with him - but he's the "star" and his voice is
gone!

I think by the time you get to an Elvis Cirque
show the run is over. Picture it. Elvis on the
crapper while acrobats in pompadour wigs sing
the 'King is Dead'. I'm seeing pretty slow
tickets sales South of the Sahara.
