Hey! Thank you so much. This is good advice.

There would be 4 of us going, probably just for a long day to have a
"look-see" as to what
is there. The casino hopping sounds good, too. Right now, I am just getting
some facts.
It will be a "seat of the pants" thing, no matter what we decide to do.

So are you all Laughlin virgins?

The drive down-

There are two diverse camps, no neutral. One camp thinks it is a boring 90
mile drive through nothing to be seen or experienced.

The other camp sees the high desert as beautiful. They see the dry lake bed.
They see they are in a valley with rises on both sides. They see the clouds
and their shadows traversing across the horizon. They sense the temperature
change going from Vegas, up to Searchlight, then down to the Colorado River.
Joshua Trees are ancient relics.

Vegas veterans also look down upon the amentities of the River and the array
of casinos. Those ten joints on Casino Drive have more diversity now than the
Strip, as far as ownership.

So is this trip planned and booked?

Come on over to the Laughlin Group to ask some questions. It has been a bit
stagnant.

Blue Streak is my Laughlin authority. No one has waxed as
eloquently poetic as he has, in describing his favorite venue.

My only caution would be that you fill up your gas tank BEFORE
embarking on this desert pilgrimage. When EH and I made the drive
a few years ago, we almost became Buzzard bait, because he thought
that we had enough gas to make it. Don't let this happen to you!

Took a little drive once to Phoenix from Vegas. Well into Arizona the
gas was down. There was no life for miles.(Except probably snakes,
bugs and other good things) I came across a town called Nothing,
Arizona. If I remember right, they had to start a generator to run
the gas pumps. By the way, I never checked the price of the gas
wondering if I should go to the next gas stop looking for some
savings.

Cheers....Jeep

Laughlin group?

Go to the vpFREE home page. That's the one where you signed up to become a
member of the group. If you did not bookmark the page, it would be here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vpFREE/

Under the big pretty picture of the royal, there is text printed in royal
blue. Click on the second one down called vpFREE forums, and that will take
you to the forums page. In fire engine red print, you will see Regional
Forums, all of which are in alphabetical order. Laughlin is the only one
that begins with the 12th letter, our friend the L. Click on that blue line
that says vpFREE_Laughlin and you're there.
