Laughlin Weekend

Howdy,

We will be in Laughlin again this weekend. We are coming
for the "Hot Gifts, Cool Million" finals. Harrah's will be
simulcasting the final event from Laughlin for the first time.
The 16th is also my wife's birthday so my intentions are to
win the "Cool Million" for her birthday present. Do you think
that I should also have a backup plan? We also have 3 nights
at the Aquarius. This includes a room, buffet and entry into
their $25,000 Blackjack Tournament.
I expect that we will be using our Harrah's room. We would
be happy to meet and share a few thoughts with some fellow
group members. Feel free to call my cell at 480 280-4396.
The most reliable way to contact is to leave a message. Do
not depend upon me hearing the phone ring!
We will be leaving Phoenix tomorrow around 3:00 PM Friday.
This time of the year we gain an hour crossing the river.
Including the two of us, we can get 6 people into the Harrah's
Diamond Lounge if you would like a free drink and some light
food sometime during the weekend. I do expect cool weather and
some winds. In spite of the fact the desert and river can use
even more rain, I hope it is dry for a couple of days.

Bob

Bob,

Congratulations! Sounds like fun. Please wish your wife a happy 16th birthday for all of us!

Good luck on winning the "Cool Millions". I will be at Lake Tahoe
this weekend, so I will be watching you jump for joy on the simulcast
at Harveys. No need for a backup plan for the birthday gift. You are
a lock on winning it.

I think your choice of staying at Harrah's is the better option.
Aquarius is finally going to remodel their rooms-- $20 million
budget, and they need it.

Jigger- I have met Bob's wife, and although she is youthful looking,
I know she is at least of legal age.

Ok here is your plan B, if by some strange chance you don't win the
million dollars, cross on over to Arizona and buy a couple of lottery
tickets. That way you will be able to present your wife either with a
million dollars or a few million for her birthday.

Thanks for the advice. That will be plan D. I already have
plan B and C in case I do not win. In addition to the "Cool
Million" finals, Harrah's is giving me a $200 Simon Visa Card.
She will not know where it came from if they are discrete
when they give me my gift. Plan C calls for a trip to the
"Watchman" store at the Riverside. Since it is a special
occasion I might spring for one of those watches in a gift set.
You know the ones that include a pen and a calculator or some
other useful item!
I am going to present her gift at the free dinner Harrah's is
providing at either the Beach Cafe or the Baja Blue Restaurant.
I wonder which one is more romantic? I am afraid that the
"Million" might not be a surprise since they are simulcasting
that event. This should be her best birthday yet!

I only plan on checking in and looking at the room. The 3
nights are comped, but they asked if I wanted to pay $20 more
for a river view. Marjean's birthday dinner is at Harrah's
so that will be more convenient. We usually get a suite at
Harrah's and she seems to like those better!
It is good to hear they are going to remodel. I thought that
might have been done before, but this way I will be able to do
a before and after comparison.
