Laughlin Trip

Since Chris (hamstockman) is staying at the River Palms Sunday
night, we will eat Monday breakfast at the River Palm's No Ka Oi
Buffet instead. It is open 24/7 and that eliminates the possible
closure problem. It will also be easier for him. He will not
be checking into the Belle until Monday afternoon. We might be
eating alone, but everyone is welcome! Maybe Martin Moy and his
friend Jon can join us. However, we are not at such a deadline
meeting up with them since we hope to see them before Monday.

Bob

I will be at the buffet at 9AM Monday. All are welcome. Also-
zzyzxvault, Terry and I will be at the CB/EW also on Monday. I will be
wearing a Tahoe Biltmore T-shirt. Just yell out Chris, and I will
respond.

You guys have a good time down there and let us know how it went.

So, did you guys have fun? Any earth-shattering wins? Anyone get
trespassed from a casino?

I wish I could have joined you. My employer decided I should be in
rainy Manhattan and schlepping up and down Long Island for a week. I
will be back in Laughlin December 6-9 at Harrah's.

Drew

Sorry - it didn't work out. I should know better - on a short (for me) 3 night stay,
with no car - although not needed ; just not enough time to do my thing and try to meet up with someone doing other things (golf tournament, slot tournament at other hotel, etc.).

No earth-shaking wins either; I'm 0 for 5 years plus at RP for their royals.
With the move to 'freeplay' instead of cb, I may not be going back there much.

Not that I didn't try; No deuces in fpdw, dealt 3-2s 3x; no wild RFs either.
7/5 bonus prog on 4ks and higher over 1900; I had 4 to a royal 4x and no fill.

Ate well though, and had fun trying Harrah's 50p machines.

  Martin.

Oh, yes it was fun. It was nice to meet some posters I have not met
before. No, earth shattering wins, but I did come out on the plus
side for my vp play. I was a little surprised to get a white card
when I checked into the Colorado Belle. This was the same card they
have had in the past, including free dining at the Orleans Room
(closed June 1st). It was a shock to walk upstairs and find all
gaming gone, with a vast empty space. With the limited dining now
upstairs, this has become almost a ghost town at some hours of the
day.

They are still offering the $5 off the buffet when you flash a slot
card. Cash only for the balance- sorry comps not good with this
offer. Saw a huge line at 11:30 AM for the lunch buffet at the EW.

They gave me a gold card at the slot club. Benefits? Nothing I can
tell. I also got $100 in free play, but they make you stand in line
for it at $25 each day. With the drawing tickets etc., lines at the
slot club are a guarantee.

Terry and I teamed up for all the drawings, but we struck out. Oh, I
did win a Coors beer bottle cozy at the Monday Night Football
drawing. Whoopie!

It sure looks like the new owners at the CB/EW are trying to feel
their way around the Laughlin market. I expect to hear about more
changes coming.

I enjoyed those new quarter full pay machines at the EW and CB. Those
slant tops are nice, and I never had trouble finding a seat. Also,
as mentioned in other posts, slot benefits are way down.

Sure could not beat the weather. It was nice and warm- great time of
the year to go.

With gas prices on the rise and a long drive for me, I just don't
know when I will make it back to the river. Chris

So that entire non-smoking section upstairs near the coffee shop is gone now?

WARNING: Check your point total before and after using the $5 off
buffet offer at the CB. Several people - my wife and I included -
have had 2500 points (=$5 cashback/freeplay) deducted from our
accounts when our cards were swiped at the buffet. The deductions can
be voided at the player's club, but many won't notice the deduction.

We haven't had this problem at the EW, but I'll be checking our point
balances at both establishments before and after any promotional
transactions in the future.

Bob, plan on doing your gambling downstairs from now on. What really
upset me was to see those nice bartops gone from the Mississippi Lounge
upstairs. I have spent many enjoyable hours playing those Progressives
in that quiet area of the CB.

Boy I'm really beside myself hearing about those changes upstairs. I too used to play at the
Mississippi Lounge, but that was when I was playing JOB and they had that up there. I'm
really curious what they have planned for all that vast space.
