Laughlin Trip/ The Beers

This continues the trip discussion.

Hamstockman and I enjoy doing a tasting of the beers. On Tuesday we ran into
the guy who orders the beers at the Pioneer. Pioneer has been the King of
Beers for tasting the last two years in Sasy Sues Saloon. Late afternoon we
were introduced to another one, which we could not pronounce. Jeff (Gibson?) the
beverage manager, made us drink Maudite from Canada.

What a balanced beer! I usually like the hops, but now I have a new fave.
This style is a new one to me...Belgium Strong Dark Ale. Beer Advocate is my
educational site:

Maudite from Unibroue, Quebec is my favorite beer right now!

Anyone speak French?

Who would have thought that the Pioneer would have such a great
selection of such fine beers? I had always thought that such a place
would have a selection of A. Coors or B. A Bud-- Not so, as on tap
they have some very good beers, and they have gone beyond that they
have brought in some rare outstanding beers such as the Maudite and a
Chimay and on tap. Chimay is a true Belgium beer brewed in a
Monestary in Belgium. It is my favorite at Sassy Sues. Even Marshall
(the Brewmaster) at the Boiler Room microbrewery has been impressed
with some of their beers. If you like to drink beer at all, give some
of them a try.
