Laughlin Riverside VP

Just returned from 3 nights at Don Laughlins Riverside Casino. The
vast majority of the games I saw had poor pay schedules.

I found some 9/6 JorB at the dollar level, but none at the
nickel/quarter level.

Every nickel/quarter BP game I saw was 7/5 or worse. I found 8/5 BP
at the dollar level.

Every nickel/quarter DDBP game I saw was 9/5. I found some DDBP 9/6
games at the dollar level.

I found some newer (or unusual) VP games, including SpinPoker,
MultiStrike, 5Aces Poker, and Big Split Poker.

According to the "Best Games" list for the Riverside, there are 9/6/5
DDJ games (100.3%), but I did not find them near the Cinnabun. Also,
I could not find the 8/5 DJ games (99.6%). It's possible these
machines were moved to a different location or the payschedules
altered (many DJ and DDJ games are near the Cinnabun).

More on the many DJ and DDJ variants below. I did not play any of
them. The pay schedules were new and unusual to me. Take care when
looking for a specific games ... the payschedule are varied and
confusing. All of the games below are near the Cinnabun/bar area.

Double Double Your Money Bonus (97.85% + Special Quad Double Bonus).
The game selects a quad randomly and if your next quad matches the
selected quad, the normal payback is doubled. The payschedule is 1-1-
3-4-5-9-50(Quad 2-10)-80(Quad JQK)-160(Quad Aces)-160(Quad JQK
w/AceJQK)-320(Quad Aces w/JQK)-50-800.

Double Your Money Bonus Plus (96.37% + Special Quad Double Bonus).
Same doubling rule as above. The payschedule is 1-1-3-4-6-9-50(Quad
5-K)-80(Quad 234)-160(Quad Aces)-50-800. BP variant.

Double Your Money Bonus (96.42% + Special Quad Double Bonus). Same
doubling rule as above. The payschedule is 1-1-3-5-8-12-25(Quad 5-K)-
40(Quad 234)-80(Quad Aces)-50-800. BP variant with unusual Flush and
FH payoffs.

Double Double Jackpot (96.77% and 92.23% w/o quad doubling). Quarter
game. The payschedule of the 96.77% version is 1-1-3-4-5-8-50(Quad 2-
10)-80(Quad JQK)-160(Quad Aces)-160(Quad JQK w/AJQK)-320(Quad Aces
w/JQK)-50-800. The 92.23% version is identical except the last two
quad payoffs were missing!

Double Double Jackpot (99.27%). $1 Game. Similar to the "old" DDJ
game in the database. Same payschedule, except FH pays 8 instead of
9 (1-1-3-5-6-8).

Double Jackpot Bonus (97.45%). Similar to the "old" DJ game in the
database, but is a $1 game, and a worse payschedule. The payschedule
is 1-2-3-4-5-8-20(Quad 2-10)-40(Quad JQK)-80(Quad Aces)-50-800.

Four of a Kind Bonus (95.21%). To compute the return of this game I
had to define it using VP software, so it's possibly wrong. The
payschedule is 1-2-3-4-5-8-20(Quads 2-J)-40(Quad Q)-60(Quad K)-80
(Quad Aces)-50-800.

Double Double Joker Wild (96.59%). Looking at my notes I may have
erred because I did not list a RF w/Joker payoff? The payschedule
per my notes is 1-2-3-6-8(FH)-20(Quad)-50(SF)-100(5ofK)-1000(RF).

Thanks for looking around. The Riverside has slowly been sinking
into the abyss, but alot faster than other Laughlin casinos.

I have not played there since the FPDW disappeared. It is quite a
blow to hear that the 9/6/5 DDJ games are gone now too. These were
right by the short-pay MS by Cinnabun in a group of six (2x3)
machines. The 100.3% DDJ were in each corner with a Bonus in the
middle on one side and a 9/6 DB on the other.

These Sigma games are endangered.

So how did you end up at the Riverside? Did you eat there? The
Prime Rib Room used to be a bargain. Never liked the coffee shop or
buffet myself. In the Spring and Fall the old North tower rooms are
great. You can pull the table and chairs out onto the balcony.

Anyway, did you get some tickets into the January drawings? They
were pretty strong at 4x$501.25=$2005 per night. $500 coin-in got
you a ticket. No non-sense about getting in the drawing with eating,
sleeping or breathing.

I'm pretty sure the 9/6/5 DDJ games are gone, but it's possible they
were moved. I didn't check every nook and cranny. We've stayed at
the Riverside a couple of times before, but it was so smokey I'm
going to look elsewhere next trip. We don't like the buffet, but
Serranos mexican restaurant is very good. Wish there was one in LV.
We went there 3 times in 3 days. And we went to a couple movies too,
after midnight, for $4.00 each (Phantom of the Opera and The
Aviator). The rooms are reasonably priced and OK. Also, we like to
play a few Bingo sessions (only 1 other casino in Laughlan has it).

Here's a bingo tip. On January 30 a car will be given away at the
7:30 session (to the winner of the final coverall). If there is more
than 1 winner they will split $7500. That's assuming it isn't won
tomight (1/29). There are only about 150-200 players so those are
pretty good odds for a car. We are driving to LA on Monday, so if it
isn't won tonight (1/29) we may leave a day early and play the 7:30
session. If we go I will look again for the 9/6/5 DDJ games.

I didn't mention it in my first post, but the newer smoke free casino
across the highway didn't have any good VP either. As you mentioned,
the MS payschedules are bad too.

I did another search on 1/30, for the 9/6/5 DDJ games, but did not
find them. There continue to be a variety of Sigma machines (DJ,
DDJ, etc) in 6 different locations throughout the main casino floor,
but no 9/6/5 DDJ.

Also, I did not win the car at the Sunday night 7:30 session of
bingo. After 56 numbers were called I was "on" (with 18 numbers
left), but the 57th number was not mine. The two winners split $7500
and the car is still parked in the casino.
