Had forgotten about Laughlin River Run starting Wed. Drove in yesterday after
trying all week to make a reservation at Golden Nugget. Learned that the old
1-800-955-7700 number has been abandoned. It rings but there's no forwarding.
The number on the back of the slot cards 1-800-955-SLOT does work but no one
returned my voicemail message. Had never had a problem getting a room at GN
until yesterday when they said they were sold out for the week.
From GN, I called Edgewater who also said they were sold out but asked for my
slot card # then put me through to a host. Fortunately I got a host who knew
me from recent trips & the result was a 4-night stay leaving on Thu before the
shooting starts. Room is a std which is smaller than what I normally get but
I'm glad for anything.

Bryan, this may be a poor choice of a week to go to Laughlin. Unless
you are into big crowds and Harleys, stay away---River Run starts
Wednesday. Room rates go up nearly 10 fold, machines are hard to
snag, and lines for drinks and food are huge. This is the biggest
event of the year in Laughlin. >>>
