Just checking in to let everyone know what a great time I had in Laughlin this past week.
First, upon my arrival (9/19), I met Terry at the Boiler Room and we both ordered a panini
(sp) that was to die for. It had turkey, bacon, avocado and maybe one or two other things
I can't think of. Anyway, VERY tasty. I do miss things on their menu like the "Sweet 16"
but nonetheless the panini was very good. And it was on special that day for $6.95.
Then on 9/25 at 11:30 I met Pat and a friend of hers at the Edgewater. Again, a big
improvement in the buffet. Everything they say in this week's Laughlin Entertainer is true.
Both the Colorado Belle and the Edgewater buffets have improved quite a bit lately, due to
the new chefs I guess. Then that same day, Pat's friend scored a royal and I wish some of
that would've rubbed off. Poor Pat was under the weather with a cold..I hope she's better.
My gambling would've been very good if I would've just stayed away from the BJ. The Belle
has a very favorable table now, (min. $10) with two decks. But you can now double down
on any first two cards, plus double after splitting. I played BJ both Saturday and Sunday, a
couple of hours each day, and couldn't get any kind of a run going. VP on the other hand
treated me very well. I played 25¢ 8/5 Bonus at CB and EW. Didn't hit a royal, but got at
least 4 or 5 four-of-a-kind Aces, not two mention a couple of handfuls of other four-of-
a-kinds. I'm really glad I spent time on a tutorial before I left. I was surprised at the
number of mistakes I was making before, and I know the tutorial was responsible for some
winning runs.
I did play some BJ at the Riverside and did better there, scoring three same suited BJ's so
brought three 6-packs of Coke products back to the room for housekeeping plus their tip.
(I flew down, so taking them back on the plane was out of the question.)
Monday, the day before I left, I went up to RP, mostly just to poke my head in the door.
But I guess they didn't want me around because I barely sat down for two minutes playing
25¢ BP and got a four-of-a-kind on fours so I promptly took off.
