Laughlin Offers

Tom and I have had houseguests for the last five weeks, so I haven't spent
much time on-line. My brother (from Wisconsin) and two friends were with us for
a week, and then my Mom & Dad (from Wisconsin) were with us for three weeks.
Mom & Dad flew home yesterday. The house seems so quiet and empty!!

We were up to Laughlin with my brother and friends 3/14-15. Stayed at the
River Palms. I was playing deuces wild and held two and caught a Royal! Frank
(from this list) saw the Royal before I was paid, and questioned my hold --
Queen and King of Clubs. I assured him that there were no penalty cards, and I
had made the correct hold. The next morning, just before we left, Frank
"caught" Tom and me playing a penny machine. We like to do that on occasion to
relax after we've played hours and hours of VP and when we don't want to have to
"think".

We were also up in Laughlin on 4/12 with my Mom & Dad. Tom and I wanted to
collect our $175 bounceback from River Palms before it expired. Mom & Dad
enjoyed the beautiful scenery, and now they know where their daughter and
son-in-law spend so much of their time. Tom hit the four ducks on Monday, so it was a
successful trip. Also ran into Frank & Pat again.

Didn't go to any other casinos in Laughlin other than RP during either trip.
Can report that the old machines that were removed from the entry area on the
second floor have not resurfaced in any location. The rest of their
inventory seems to be intact.

As I said, we play almost exclusively at RP. For the last two months, I've
been getting $100 bounceback coupons (2/month) and Tom gets $75. We also got
coupons for two nights in a suite at RP in April. We have reservations for
4/26-27 in a suite and I'll report on it. We also get the coupons for comp $ to
be added in our accounts twice a month ($25 and $20). And, we each received
the post cards for the "Progressive Sweepstakes". They read: "This postcard
is your chance to win $25,000 on Saturday, April 17. 20 names will be drawn,
all 20 win cash prizes. If the top prize isn't drawn, the jackpot for next
month's drawing will be $27,500. You qualified for this drawing, it isn't open
to the public. Entries will be accepted beginning at 7 p.m. at the Drawing
Stage. Drawings held at 8:30 p.m. at the Drawing Stage. Must be present to
win. Must bring this postcard on April 17 for entry. Must claim prize within 3
minutes and present a valid photo ID."

Tom's suffering from a severe cold and we aren't planning to drive up to
Laughlin tomorrow. It does sound like a great drawing, though. Would love to
hear a report from someone who has attended.

We had stayed at Edgewater in January & February, but exhausted our comp $
account when we stayed an extra day and requested comps for food. We received
an offer for March/April for 4 free nights each month and $50 in cash. We
didn't use any of the offers, and didn't play at Edgewater at all during March or
April. In yesterday's mail, we got the May offer....Two nights at $4 per
night, a $5 dining bonus. We have been severely downgraded by the Edgewater!

We are active players at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. We play almost
exclusively on Tom's card. He received an offer from the Flamingo Laughlin (part of
Caesars Empire) for up to 3 free nights from 5/3-8/26/04, 2 complimentary
tickets to Comedy Stop, $40 off one meal at Alta Villa, and a complimentary room
for one night from 11/28-1/13/05. I also received an offer from Flamingo
Laughlin for $20 for two nights 5/3-8/26/04, 2 comp. tickets to Comedy Stop, 2
complimentary buffets, and one comp room for one night from 11/28-1/13/05. As far
as I can remember, we've never set foot in the Flamingo Laughlin.

That's it for now....will keep in touch as we continue to receive more
offers, and as we make more trips up to Laughlin.

I got the same offer. I made the mistake of stopping by to listen to
the band, and played only a short time on my card. I should have
known better than to insert my card unless I was going to give them
some decent play. I guess I won't be staying at the Edgewater.

I am an active member also with the Las Vegas Hilton. I guess someone
in a back room was checking out zip codes, and figured out that I
live much closer to the Northern Nevada casinos. I received an
interesting offer from the Reno Hilton for 3 anytime free nights and
$20 in free play. Also on the same card was an offer from Caesars
Tahoe for 2 free weekday nights and a cruise for 2 on the new Caesars
yacht, The Bow Wave. I have never put a card in either of these 2
places. I am very tempted on the Tahoe offer.

Another interesting offer was received from Harrahs Laughlin. I got
an offer for airfare from Stockton, Ca. and 4 nights for $149. The
flight is May 2 through May 6th. Bad dates for me.

From BS: "what is more fun to watch, the carp in the river or the
ducks on the shore?"

I think it is more fun to watch the people throw food to them, and
watch the fish and ducks fight for it. Hey, whatever happened to all
those cats that used to be everywhere?
