Laughlin Observations

As of Thursday December 13th-

I got to stay at the GN-L's fourth floor-top floor riverview rooms this trip.
Still is the nicest standard issue room I get to stay in on the river. But
they were ripping out the whole pool area, so I got to listen to the jack
hammers during the day. They chiseled out the linings of the pool and hot tub,
took out the turf down to the watering lines and were wheeling in some
substsantal foliage. The letter left in the room stated it should be done by
mid-January and used the words "private cabanas".

The GN-L Deli-Snack bar seems to be open 24/7 now. I did late lunch twice,
taking my purchase back to the room. I did the California Club and the Reuben
along with sides of slaw and tater salad. Still tasty and a deal for the
swipe and go comps.

The GN-L horse/sports book area has flat screen TVs for bettors now. Really
is a nice area for watching the four legged creatures. It appears the
cocktailer still comes by on her regular rounds.

There were three BJ tables in Tarzans on dollys. It appeared the workers
were putting in upgraded cameras. Maybe a mini-party BJ pit going in?

What happened to the planned hotel room expansion?

Up the River-

Another tasty brew in Sassy Sue's Saloon was on tap. Sierra Nevada
Celebration Ale was offered. This is one of those seasonal brews.

Marshal at the Boiler Room had a Tripel Belgian style as his brewmeister's
special. This means triple the malts and candy sugar added in the Chimay Monk's
style of making beer. Just not my style.

The EW River bar was boarded up floor to ceiling, as well as the slot club.
Boothlings were in operation out of windows one and two at hotel registration.

The EW O' Aces bar progressive meter was turned down to .5%.
