knedlick,

Is this your first time to Don Laughlin's vision? Flying in on a
comp from another Harrahs? What is the timetable?

First, there are playable VP games in all nine Laughlin casinos.
Check the VPfree database (links) for details. I and others do a
pretty good job updating it.

Do you want to play something besides VP? Enjoy drawings or little
daily tournaments? How about outside the casino activities? Renting
wheels (don't need them)?

The best source for Laughlin is the Entertainer magazine, which comes
out on Wednesdays. You will find it outside the gift shop at
Harrahs, or in all the casinos. Online, Laughlinentertainer.com will
get you promos and shows. The Ads in the hardcopy provide alot of
info and a few dining coupons.

Harrahs is running a shuttle 10am-6pm to get down to the Regency
casino, gets you between the Flamingo and the Edgewater. The river
Taxis stop at midnight, $3 one-way.

So what is your gambling poison?

I was just at Harrah's Laughlin July 10-13.

My husband and I played $1 10-7 DB in the high limit area. The staff
treated us well and handpays were instantaneous. The high limit
attendant will give you a card that lets you into the high limit
lounge. There are private bathrooms in the lounge, plus a nice
sitting area with a TV and snacks.

So far as I could tell, we earned 1 base credit for every $10 played,
plus 2 bonus credits for every base credit. So that worked out to 3
reward credits per $10 played, or .333% comps. Shabby comps, but
pleasant casino to play in.

We abandoned Harrah's on Saturday and headed to the Edgewater. We
played .25 triple-play JOB with royal progressives on each line.
There are 3 machines at the end of the Rivers Edge bar by the
escalators. The royal flush had gotten to over $3000 on the top
line! The screens were dirty and the buttons were sticky but it was
great fun and the bartender took care of us. (There was also NSUD on
those machines, if that's your poison.) The cashback is .25% and
it's a Mandalay property. We picked up our cash at the Edgewater and
headed over to the Colorado Belle (also a Mandalay property) to use
our comps for dinner. Nice!

Good luck!
