We were in the Sport's Bar from about 9 to midnight, I recall.
Too bad we didn't know you were there. As Harvey said, it's nice to
have friends around to cheer the good times and console you through
the bad. We opted to play the 9/5 DB. Leslie (our Host) felt
terrible that we didn't get to eat the the Hickory Pit and said next
time we should make reservations to be sure. Not cause it's busy (as
you said), but because there is no assurance they will be open if
you don't.
I also had the 1% coupons you mentioned for both October and
November. We left in such a hurry to catch the plane, that I left
those at home along with RP and Riverside very usuable coupons.
Grrrrrrr. Bluestreak did come by on Sunday afternoon at the
sportbar, and mentioned that you were in town, but I thought he said
something about meeting up at Harrahs. Where was the progressive
you were speaking of at the CB? I believe they now have progressives
at all 4 bars in the place. Monday we did spend some time at the
Mississippi Lounge playing the 10/7 DB with the progressive, and had
a nice lunch there also.
I would be sooo mad at myself if I forgot the coupons too. Did
you ask in VIP if they would make copies for you? I have been to
casinos that will do that. Most won't, but the worst they can say
is "No." Never did make plans to meet up with BS, but we should
have. Next time we go, we will post it on the Laughlin board to make
an attempt at meeting up. The progessive I spoke of at CB was at the
bar (I forgot the name) on the lower lever at the far north end of
the casino by the exit doors. We have noticed that many employees
play there after their shifts are over. The reason (we were told)
that the pot was so high was because some other progressive was
taken out of play, so that pot was switched over (that's the law).
We spent a good deal of time at the Mississippi Lounge Bar playing
Monday as well. As I recall, we got there mid-afternoon and played
for several hours (unsuccessfully). We had the Salmon dinner which
was very good. We played the 25c DB progressive and the sole $1DB as
well. Most of the bartenders up there are very good to us.
I did speak to the head of the sportbar at the EW and he said they
had a regular group lined up each morning at 7 AM when they loaded
the extra $2,000 on the royal. I tried to get in late Friday night,
but all seats were in use. I think by Saturday and Sunday most had
given up, or ran out of funds chasing the royal.
We figured that there were few people playing for the progressive
during the week because they likely assumed it had been hit (as the
$2k special ended Sun night). Will be a nice pot for whoever hits
it. We also tried for the 25c 3p at the main bar at EW as those
progressives were very nice. $2200, $1900, and $1100 when we checked
out. We played NSUD and did manage to get the deuces 2x in a very
short period of time and cashed out up $400. Kept hoping for a dealt
RF... but none were forthcoming this trip. We'll get 'em next
time : )
