Speaking of the Golden Nugget in Laughlin, I tried to punch in
the dates I'll be going down to Laughlin, April 11-18. It came
back and said there are no rates that match my specific criteria.
Kinda strange, eh?
There used to be a website that contained a lot of press
releases from Harrah's and Colorado Belle including specials,
employees of the month, etc. It was
http://www.coloradoriverinfo.com/laughlin/casinos/pressrelease
s/
But there hasn't been anything posted by the casinos at that site
since November 19th. I asked a marketing rep. at the Belle why
nothing's been posted and she told me the site's turning out to
be a dud and they're doing more of their publicity on their own CB
site.
I sure hope the new Flamingo owners don't screw up their site,
which is what you dread also hamstockman. I have high hopes
for that place. I'd hate to be disillusioned.
Pioneer does have a nice site with everything under the sun to
click on.
Interesting thing (from a Macintosh point of view) about the
Riverside. They have subject links both on the top of the page
and on the bottom to click on, but (at least with my Mac) not all of
the links open.
Ramada does a pretty nice job with their site. It's nice and
colorful. But do they still have their train fully operational? If so,
why would they not publicize it on their website like they used to?
I've emailed them twice on that subject..no reply. Maybe they're
afraid if they publicize the train they'd present themselves as a
family oriented resort...and they don't want that? Guess maybe
it's just me, but I get a kick out of that train.

This is a great subject. I have checked out all the webpages of
the
casinos in Laughlin, and overall, I would have to give them a
"D"
grade compared to Las Vegas and Reno.
The worst of the bunch is the River Palms. Have you ever tried
to
find out if rooms are available, or at what price. Enter your
credit
card number and you might find out. Sorry RP. Or how about
promotions
at the RP. According to the website - they have a new card sign
up...and that is about it. They ought to fire whoever is in charge
of keeping this up to date. Oh, never mind- he was fired 2 years
ago,
and they are still looking for a replacement.
Harrahs is pretty good, but if you stray off on a subject, you can
not get back to the Laughlin property.
The Golden Nugget sure looks good at first. But it is a dud
when you
try to find out any information. Before you know it, you are back
at
the Las Vegas property.
Flamingo- I like their set up. Easy to navigate, but I am sure the
new owners will screw it up.
Pioneer and Riverside: Good job for local joints. They need to
update
their promotion pages quicker- especially the Riverside.
Ramada Express: Another one that is always out of date with
promotions. Overall, they do a pretty nice job.
EW/CB: Come on fellows= You got to do better than that. When
was the
last time you saw a promotion listed on their site? They have
not
even drawn the winners of their big promotion in months. This
is
really sad. For over a year the EW had a link for flights that
never
worked. They finally took it off. Thank you.
Regency? Website? Internet? What are you talking about? We
are a
gambling place.
