Last visit 2007

I don't think casinos gave out free popcorn in 2007.... We remember free Breakfast at Sys, circa 1980....

Sorry your wife had a bad trip in 2007....hopefully that was a one time thing. So much has changed here I would recommend a walking trip along the strip, starting at NYNY, go through new Aria casino which I no was not there then, to Bellagio and visit the garden inside. Unless you are very healthy (or not and riding scooters) that may be far enough for one walk. Then another day walk from Cromwell (you'll remember that as Barbary COast) to Flamingo (visit the gardens inside for a break if you want to see some live Flamingos), then into the Quad, ride the High Roller (free tickets if you are a diamond member of Caesars, ask at total rewards, if not, look for discounts online). Then into Quad (former Imperial Palace) to Venetian and Palazzo (dont think that was there in 2007). Stop for breakfast and lunch and dinner on the way. Or do the reverse.

I am not sure when the encore and Wynn were built, but you can do a third trip there if you want and maybe look at the former sites of Frontier and Stardust (now under construction).
Then on to the SLS, former Sahara, totally new and modern.

Not sure how long your trip is, but if you have a week, onward to Lake Meade to check out how low the water level is. Downtown Vegas with the Container Park (stores), new Smith Center for a show, pass the Grand (former Lady Luck), take in the Fremont Street Experience with a new show and people zip lining down the center.

For those cheap buffets you remember try one of the Coast casinos, Suncoast if you want to go to Summerlin, Orleans or Gold Coast closer in Or a Stations casino.

For splurge eating, try lunches to save money, at the more expensive buffets like Bellagio or Caesars, or Giadas in the Cromwell.

Check out online for half-price (or so) kiosk locations and discounts. Also those "what to see and do" booklets still have coupons, available in the airport information kisok or hotel front desks.

have fun, and don't get sick this time!!

Free popcorn was my wife's favorite thing at Slots of Fun.

Misscraps, Very interesting Wife is doing fine. We just spent 4 nites at Taj with kids and grandkids. I rode bike with grand kids using 2 hrs. Was hard on my rear though. Those garden things sound nice.

Wynn was there then, Didn't go, even though I stayed At Stardust. We were there 2 weeks before Implosion. I got a complimentary hard bound book from them loaded with old pictures etc of Dust history.
I never could figure out why they didn't design the improvement with buildings in back parking and keep Dust open while constructing. I always thought that old place ground out a nice profit, day after day. Sometime
it seemed all of the same employees were still working there from first day it opened. We liked them all.

Lake Mead isa good thought. We might go Laughlin and stop on way. Course, I've been there 5-6 times.

I thought about Grand Canyon? maybe too many miles. Then I'd walk to edge look over and say "deep hole".
Then leave. I did fly over it few times.

I think there used to be a big flea market near Nellis . I wonder if still there. Also used to be small indoor one somewhere near Palace Station.

All in all, thanks for reply. Got my mind moving.
