I have been playing video poker for about 4 years. I have been to Las
Vegas approximately 20 times during that period. I play NSUD and
DDB,mostly 5-play quarters and dollars. I have come out ahead in Las
Vegas exactly twice during such 4-year period. My results elsewhere,
ie., Reno/Tahoe, Chicago, New Orleans, Shreveport etc. have been much
more positive. Overall, I am break-even or positive but not because
of Las Vegas. In Vegas, I love The Palms, the atmosphere, the
selection of games etc. I estimate I have put $400,000 through The
Palms machines. My biggest payout was one 4 dueces on a $1 machine.
On a recent trip I was negative $2,500 on about $40,000 of coin in-I
never drew 4 dueces or anything close. My biggest payout on any 5-
play machine was $200. Has anyone else had a similar experience at
The Palms? I was also amazed on my recent trip how deserted The Palms
seemed. Curious about other players experiences.
Las Vegas Trip Report
After at least 15 or so trips, only one winning session. Despite the pay schedules on the machines. Over 100,000 points.
The results at other casinos are better, I dont know why either.

What is the $0.25/$1 breakdown of the $40,000 coin-in? I'm trying to
figure out how many hands you played without getting 4 deuces (ranging
from 8,000 hands if all $1 play up to 32,000 hands if all $0.25 play).
Can one of the statisticans tell me if this is reasonable or is it so
far out on the bell curve that I should read between the lines and
assume the machines are tweaked in some way. I was thinking of
stopping by The Palms as one of my FPDW locations when I'm out there.

Lat year I had a drought of 25-30K hands without 4 deuces. A couple
of months later I had 4 ducks 10 times in 12 hours playing 3-play
(18-20K hands). Both at the Fiesta H.

Re: concerns about the Palms deuces machines- I am way ahead at the Palms playing mostly $1 3/5 play or occasionaly $5 single line NSUD. One day last year I hit the deuces 4 times in 1 1/2 hrs on the $5 single line. I have not done so well this year but I can't imagine that they all of a sudden decided to "mess" with these machines. Also I know Jean Scott was dealt a royal on the $1 deuces 5 play earlier this year. You can see her picture at the club booth!
