Las Vegas Summerfest 2009 VP Tournament?

I've received an invitation from HET to play in "one of our daily $10,000 Summerfest Tournaments in fabulous Las Vegas!" (The exclamation point is theirs, not mine... i'm considerably less excited than they are.)

The invitation includes 4 days/3 nights accommodation at one of their LV properties (which, as a well-qualified player, i could probably get on my own).

There are slot tournaments at the Flamingo and the Imperial Palace, a Blackjack tournament at the Rio, but the one I'm interested in, of course, is the VP tournament at Bally's. The tournament runs July 20 - 23 and "each day is its own stand-alone event, giving you more chances to WIN a share of $10,000 each day!" (again, the exclamation point - and the caps - are from their over eager copywriter, but in this case, i share their enthusiasm.)

I went on the Harrah's and Bally's web sites, but I could find nothing about this tournament. I'm assuming there is no entry fee. (Is there normally?)

Has anyone ever played in a previous "Summerfest" event? Are they well attended? Well run? What VP game(s) do they generally use for tournament play? How long are the sessions?

Inquiring minds want to know! (The exclamation point, this time, is mine.)

I haven't played in a 'fest' (Winter or Summer) tournament since the 2007
Winterfest....and I don't plan on ever playing in one ever again.

Per my own experience....

There are THOUSANDS of contestants each day, competing for a (relatively)
small prize pool, playing one session each - all day long.

ANYONE can enter for a $20 entry fee. No invite necessary. But, they need
to be a Total Rewards cardholder. (That daily entry fee could have gone up
by now.)

Diamond (and above) members get one free entry per day. But, in the tourney
that I entered, they allowed people to enter twice on one day - rather than
once each day for two days.

Each day, they gave away gifts. I played twice in one day and got two
gifts.

IMHO, unless they changed things, these 'fest' tournaments not worth a
special trip. If you are already going to be in town, maybe.
