What exactly is considered a "quality area"?

I have two close friends who have moved to Vegas. One friend lives in the
Lakes out at the end of W. Sahara. and the other friend lives in complete
opposite area east of boulder highway near Sam's Town. Just by the "looks" of things
the westside of Vegas seems to have more "quality area" than the east.

please advise thanks Liz

Your friend on the west side lives in or near Peccole Ranch, a
beautiful area. Basically, the area from Alta (Suncoast) down south
to Desert Inn and west of Rampart is all relatively new, schools
included.

Your friend in the east is a smidge too far east, living amongst the
taverns, auto repair shops, and adult book stores. The Green
Valley/Henderson area from east of Pecos and west of Stephanie, south
of Sunset as far as you can go, is uniformly nice and has very high
rated schools. My two daughters go to middle school in the area.

We moved to the area last summer and did some extensive research on
scores and statistics of the public schools. Limited our choices on
home buying to very specific areas.
